  1. I just ordered The Fury off the Varsese Sarabande website...It does say "out of print" but the "add to shopping cart" button is active and I was able to order it and already received 2 confirmation emails and ups tracking info. The other out of print titles on their website say "out of print AND NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE"...but The Fury just says "title out of print". I guess the proof will be when I have it in my hand.
  2. There's something subtle I've been noticing more and more in his recent compositions...it's kinda hard for me to explain, I am a pianist so it's easier to convey with musical notation rather than a paragraph like this. It's kind of a layering of triple meter with double meter. You'll notice it in For Always, Harry's Wondrous World, Sean's Theme, Angela's Ashes... Where the pulse of the music is distinctly based on three, but then the melody switches to two. Or vice versa with the melody in 3/4, placed against a 2/4 or 4/4...if that makes any sense. I'm not a well-versed theorist so bear with me. Is this a new Williams trend?
  3. I graduated from CSU Long Beach in 99....it was always well known that he went there, and there was a legend that i heard that he was belittled or insulted by his professors or the film department...the way i always heard the story was that they told him he "wouldn't amount to anything." And the grudge he bore kept him from ever donating anything to the school, or even associating with the school. Which explains why the film/media department has always been so poor. I wonder how all this publicity will change and improve the school, which is already one of the best in the CSU system. (i'm jealous that i graduated before all the excitement)
