HI there - Fantastic site!! I am a newbie here and am in love with JW scores.. I am also a musician wanting to get into soundtrack writing, and studying the master himself is amazing - this man is a god! However i would love to know how JW scores a film? I have collected interviews with him about how he ALWAYS watches a film first in the projection room. Then i suppose he gets a video/tape of the film to watch back at home??? BUT how does he score?? - i take it he sits at the piano watching the film (once its "spotted") and composes scenes at the piano - now this is genius in itself but i just want to know : 1 - how does he write so that all the little hits on the film (crashes/movements) sync to his writing on an acoustic piano? without timecode and resorting to electronics? 2 - how the hell does he write with a piano knowing what parts will be played by strings/flute/brass etc?! - that must be really hard?!, and transcribing the piano sound to a full 100 peice orchestra with instruments?? Many thanks, & i apologise again for the questions
