Last April the Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairs/CEOs announced in an interview that Matt Reeves had joined Them! as a producer, so it seems like it was alive as of April 2025, at least. Who knows if it still is or if it will survive the merger, though.

Wow, and with Spider-Man: Brave New Day, that would make 5 Giacchino scores in one calendar year for the first time since 2011! (if Klara and The Great Beyond happen, which I hope they will) I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, but Giacchino’s music editor, Stephen M. Davis, has been listed on Klara and the Sun on IMDb for months, even before Giacchino himself was listed. I know anyone can edit IMDb, but it seems odd to me that someone would randomly add Giacchino’s music editor before anyone else (including Giacchino). I hope that’s a promising sign that it’s true and that either Giacchino or Andrea Datzman (who worked with Davis on Inside Out 2) will score the film!

In possibly related news… based on his latest Instagram post, Giacchino is currently in London. Could be a coincidence… but I hope it’s because he’s overseeing the recording sessions for his JWR score

I saw this the other day and meant to post about it earlier, but according to a recent interview, Giacchino said (emphasis added): I don’t know if he’s over-exaggerating when he says “every theme [he’s] ever written”, but it sounds like more than just Lost, at least!

According to the latest poster, Andrea Datzman is scoring Inside Out 2! This is her first score for a feature film, right? That’s neat! I’m looking forward to hearing it!

I remember those! I’ll do some digging and see what I can find.

I had considered that the other day, and it would make sense with the size of the orchestra, but I wasn’t sure if Travelogue Vol. 2 would count as a “very different” kind of project… unless he was referring to the vibe/style being very different from Vol. 1’s, maybe? He mentioned Vol. 2 in a podcast interview a few months ago, but I don’t remember exactly what he said about it. I’ll see if I can find the interview.
