  1. It's servicable. They recorded brass at Abbey Road for a few cues, but it still sounds rather hollow with everything else being synth. There are some quieter moments which are easier on the ears.
  2. I'm playing on 'Intended' difficulty and I must admit it's pretty challenging - I still die a lot. It's deceiving because although at a glance it seems like Hitman and Uncharted, you can't really play it like either of them. The stealth aspect feels too limited while shootouts often descend into chaos. It's an odd beast - I'm enjoying the story but I haven't quite found the gameplay middleground. While the training montage was technically and visually impressive, I'm not confident enough in what I'm doing in the game proper. I feel like I'm not playing "as intended". I didn't play any Tac Sim scenarios until I was 2/3 of the way through the story and realised I'd completely missed (or the game didn't explain) quite a few combat mechanics. There's more depth to the gameplay that I think is going over my head.
  3. Can anybody explain what happened with this one? It seems to switch between LSO-sounding orchestra to what sound like synth demos and back again multiple times throughout single tracks. It's insane. It's like a mix that keeps on changing. Could they not record all of it live due to the pandemic?
  4. He's been talking of doing another opera for a few years now.
  5. I think it was Elfman who said that he, Powell and Beltrami were working on a concert piece for 3 performers. I didn't get the impression it was anything giant.
  6. I've never noticed the track from Locked Down on the Kraft Engel page before. Nice to have a cue from that. https://kraft-engel.com/clients/john-powell/
  7. John Powell wasn't nominated for HTTYD or Wicked? Get out of here.
  8. Identity isn't a particuarly engaging experience, while Supremacy is one of Powell's best-ever scores. After that, Mr. & Mrs. Smith could do with an an expansion, although it's easy to imagine the appeal for that would be much lower.
  9. In episode 8, Carol and Zosia had the radio on in the kitchen. But why does radio still exist? Who is broadcasting it and for whom?
  10. Hit shuffle. Produce. Profit.
  11. Damn, that's some seriously impressive variation work. I'd not noticed. Marvellous.
  12. I'm very confused, but is what you are saying: Powell did the film version, which we can hear without vocals on the score album The song album version is noticibly different Portions of the the song album version, without vocals, is what's heard in the credits
  13. It was funny to start with, however I believe we have now heard the Patrick Fabian recording at least 8 times. I keep thinking, "Why doesn't Carol ask them to shorten the message?".
