at least for  patients with this  illness

The impact of kidney disease

Kidney disease and disease of the urinary tract cause roughly 830,000 deaths worldwide every year.4 Globally, CKD is the 12th leading cause of death and the 17th leading cause of disability.4 Sadly, the numbers may in fact be much higher than what has been recorded. This is due to the fact that people with CKD are also at high risk for heart disease and stroke, which are more likely to be recorded as the cause of death than CKD.4 Moreover, patients with cardiovascular disease are at high risk of CKD, which may go unrecognized because of the similarity of symptoms between the 2 diseases.

Emphasis is mine***

advice from composers on the forum .... this might be in the wrong section

06 February 2013 - 04:42 AM

I'm currently writing a new piece.  Its very much in the style of  Jerry Goldsmith's  CHINATOWN.  Kind of a bluesy, solo trumpet  piece ( with piano, bass, drums, strings, in the background ).  Other than Jerry's score to CHINATOWN, does anyone have any recommendations for pieces to listen to as reference on how to write this?  I must say this is uncharted territory for me as a composer so its a bit intimidating, but i've always liked that bluesy, minor key sound and wanted to give it a go.  Any advice?

I know i'm not one of the regulars, but...

17 January 2013 - 02:29 AM

Hi everyone,
I know i'm not one of the regulars, but I'd like to ask if you'd keep me in your thoughts for a bit. I had heavy bleeding as of this morning at 3am. Went to the ER ( emergency room ) A cat scan showed that I'm battling a colon infection. Those things are ugly. I had one four years ago that nearly wasn't caught in time and almost killed me. Thankfully its not the case this time. Hopefully I should be over this in about 2 weeks or so, but I'd appreciate the support.

thanks
