Personally I think John Williams should win an Oscar every time he's nominated So yes, I'd love to see him win again. But I get the feeling they simply want to let mediocre composers out there have a shot....

These days, certainly. I'm just curious where the new generation of great composers are? Same with directors for that matter. Most great directors around are 40+..... Where are the new inspiring ones who are going to shape the way of film making like Spielberg, Scorsese etc did in their youth? Hell even Tarantino who was considered a wonderkins when Reservoir Dogs came out is now getting past his sell by date
