  1. You can't always rely on Rotten Tomatoes as a guide for horror movies. Too many of the contributors on that site despise horror films in general. Some of the ones I have enjoyed (that haven't been mentioned) include: Undead (2005) - an Australian flick that is played sometimes for laughs although more from a tongue in cheek perspective The Ruins (2008) - much better than I expected My Bloody Valentine (both the original and the remake) - I was pleasantly surprised by the recent 3-D remake that while taking things in a bit different direction, was enjoyable. The Funhouse - this is slightly beyond the 20 years restriction, but if you haven't seen it, it's pretty effective and not nearly as gory as other ones of the time period (which is still very tame on gore compared to present) 1408 - Definitely worth a viewing if you haven't already The Messengers (2008) Wrong Turn The Cave - particularly if you like caves or fear them Ghost Ship April Fool's Day (the original - haven't seen the remake yet) ** Lady in White - one of my favorites - love the music as well
