  1. Some of us are getting less likely to be around than others, Maurizio.
  2. Sorry guys, got tied up the rest of the day so just now seeing this, lol - nailed it Edmilson - I'm 60.
  3. Does it count if I'm super old (well, super old compared to everyone else on this board) and like all the Superman iterations (for the most part) so far? Does it count if I still think Reeve is the gold standard but also loved the crap out of Gunn's new one last year (easily the most accurate as far as the actual comic book character goes so far)?
  4. Yikes....your definition of "earlier period" and mine do not quite match up - earlier period of Williams to me would be Daddy-O thru up to maybe The Reivers or so. Most of those you mentioned are smack dab in his Golden Era
  5. As a resident old fart around here who rarely posts I'll toss in what Maurizio said about his highs being VERY high. I was prime middle school/high school age when his first classics came out and still count him as probably my favorite overall filmmaker even if I haven't been high on this output from the 2010s on. I'll still take Spielberg any day over most other modern filmmakers (like Nolan, whose movies overall I find severely overrated and pretentiously full of themselves). Like a bunch of others, my top five would include (not in order - just my favs): Jaws CE3K Raiders E.T. Temple of Doom Jurassic Park A.I. Catch Me if You Can Minority Report And yes, I know my top 5 is actually my top 9. Only ones of his I just can NOT get into are The Post (me and the wife started watching that for the first time a few weeks ago and only made it in about 20 minutes before giving up in boredom), Ready Player One, The BFG and Lincoln (mostly just not a big fan of his stuff overall since Lincoln on). Maybe it's a result of it playing non-stop on HBO in the early 80s and the score being one of my favorites of JW, but 1941 will always be a guilty pleasure.
  6. I confirm that Erik's right answer is also the right right answer.
  7. I'm with Tom - thought it was a very apropos joke considering the directing controversy.
  8. Was gonna say the same thing - Tim, you're keeping me on the proverbial edge of my seat reading these. Can't wait for the actual book!
  9. What's even more bewildering is why he didn't use the ESB motif for that one scene at the beginning of ROJ when the droids are approaching Jabba's palace. It's like a kinda-sorta similar noodling theme but...not the Empire one, lol. Would have been nice to hear it again in Jedi, even if just in that one scene.
  10. Still have my original LP from 1977 with the poster and insert, too - love it!
  11. All you punk kids (aside from Mr Hooper), lol - my first one bought for me was the Jaws soundtrack waaaay back in 1975 when I was a mere 9 years old. My dad kept them coming until I got into high school and started buying them myself. Can't remember exactly what the first one I bought was - I think Raiders on cassette in 81.
  12. So far so good, lol- weirdly I’m in much better shape now than I was like 20 years ago 😉
  13. I don't post much on here but I've gotta be in the running, lol - I hit 60 later this year.
  14. My 13 year old self was there the weekend it opened and loved it (also vividly remember my first time seeing Star Wars the year before and Close Encounters as well)! Also remember my dad bringing me the soundtrack LP home and me digging into it immediately. Also remember playing the theme in my middle school band the next spring.
  15. Guess I'm the only one who vastly prefers Temple of Doom as my 2nd favorite Indy movie (I refuse to take seriously anyone who prefers either TOD or Last Crusade over Raiders, lol) - I found Last Crusade somewhat lazy as a movie (although still easily prefer it to KOTCS or DOD) and have always loved the nut-case insanity of TOD both score and film.
