Anyone reading this series by George R.R. Martin? I've been working my way through book one for the last several months and find it fantastic. The book has an incredible sense of character depth, political intrigue, and solid storylines. The biggest problem is that it's so incredibly long I feel like it will be quite an acomplishment if I finish the seriesin my lifetime.
Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

5 Years!
02 November 2006 - 07:54 PM
This marks 5 years of consistent membership at the JWFan.net message boards for me. In it's honor I have compiled
The History of JWFan.
The Creation of The Board. The board's history is split into two distinctive categories the Before Justin and After Justin. The creation of JWFan occurred around 1000 BJ. The board was a small collection of ape like creatures who communicated by simple rhythmic figures pounded out with sticks and bones. Later around 950 BJ primitive grunts and groans formed a linguistic structure. In 700 BJ it's theorized that Stefancos congealed in a small tropical pond somewhere in southern Ecuador. Steef was unlike any creature the small ape lings had ever encountered, and it was through his leadership that the basic structure of the JWFan we know and love today was formed. (Along with the help of some bums named Ricard and Andreas.)
The Three Warriors. Historians are fairly consistent when it comes to Joe, who has apparently existed for all of time. According to myth the rest of the BJ years consisted of wars between Stefancos, the primitive tribal leader "Mark", and the great half-beast, half-man warrior from the north "The Chrusher". Little is known about how this occurred but it is known that around 300-400 BJ the three warriors united into what was known as “The Phantom Zone Trio”. The three kings ruled for many years until jealousy and strife was among them. Stefancos eventually drove the other two kings from the land and became the sole ruler over JWFan. Little did Stefancos know that another player in this game would soon be making a grab for power....
The Arrival of Baby Justin and The Invasion of Potter. Justin is born and lives for but a short while when war arrives. A massive force of wild savages from the west only known as “Harry Potter” invaded the land. Stefancos' forces fought valiantly but against such evil even the secret fire of Stefancos was defeated. For nearly 700 years JWFan was ruled by the evil forces of Harry Potter. Until one day the tyrant was defeated by an unknown power. Historians don't know exactly what this force is the tribes to the north call it “College” to others it is known as “a life”. No one knows....
The Years of Justin. From then on JWFan has lived in peace. Since then, Justin has wandered the countryside, doing good deeds, saving the board for nuclear attack, stopping Tom Petty and Jarvis Cocker from invading the board with their rocking tunes, and uncovering several plots including the War of The Worlds Scandal, the Joe = Ren scandal, and of course the Ray and Sturgis Scandal. He has written two best selling books, The Book of Justin which was met with a great amount of controversy, and The Chronicles of The Justin which is a collection of his memoirs. In recent years Justin has shrouded himself in mystery. Locked away in his mansion, atop a high hill. Many speculate that he has lost his mind.
Thanks for all the laughs and fish!

How broad is your musical taste?
05 June 2006 - 10:18 PM
Up until maybe a year ago I really only listened to 100% film music. I took pride in my dedication to it. However, over the past 10-12 months I've been listening to diffrent music more and more ranging from The Beatles, to my (rather surprising) passion for AC/DC. Infact, once my enthusiasm for Munich died down, I'd guess the majority of the music I've been listening to has not been film music. So far in my journey into other kinds of music (mainly old school rock) I've discovered at least a partial enjoyment for The Beatles, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Queen, Led Zepplin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, Pink Floyd and many others. So, percentage wise, exactly how much film music are you listening to these days?
