  2. Well, John Williams is INDEED extremly busy in this year, but nevertheless, I think that "Attack of The Clones" was a rather solid effort, although "Minority Report" was less interesting. I can predict that the "Harry Potter 2" score will be completley unoriginal (but what do you expect when you let William Ross do the half of the score?), and "Catch Me If You Can" will probably be unintersting as well. It`s just to hope that his future scores for "Indiana Jones IV" and "Star Wars Episode III" turns out to be as good as their predecessors.
  3. Well, Goldsmith has slowed down a bit since "The 13th Warrior", but with "The Sum of All Fears" and "Star Trek Nemesis", he is at least starting to come back. "Timeline" is actually the first really big film for Goldsmith to score in years. I hope he makes such as wonderfull score as "The 13th Warrior". And if I know him right....he WILL!
  4. Yes, I agree with you. The use of TPM music sounded horrible, but as Williams wrote no music for that sequence more than what we actually HAVE on the Sony Classical Release (Track 12), the twenty minutes that I believed was missing appeared not to exist. So, therefore, there is only one piece I really miss from the film : the music in the lightsaber duel with Count Dooku. Also, the alternate version of the finale that appears in the music video "Across The Stars" would indeed be very nice having. But if they will release any ULTIMATE EDITION, I would rather prefer the 74-minute release that already is available, as such a CD would sound ten times worse than TPM UE.
  5. Well, I don`t hate him either. But I do agree with most film music fans today that he is very unoriginal. In fact, James Horner was more enjoyable in his early days - I mean, in the 80`s, he wrote four totally unforgettable scores : Willow, Aliens, The Land Before Time and Glory. But I don`t see much wrong with "The Perfect Storm" either.
  6. Well, as "Beauty & The Beast" will be released this fall, and "The Lion King" coming out next fall, I guess that a fall 2004 release for "Aladdin" is quite possible.
  7. What the h*** is this? Should they replace not one but TWO great actors from the original film. One thing I`m now sure about - I will stay to the original trilogy until the end of our planet!
  8. I completley agree that "Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom" MUST be rereleased. I saw the movie recently, and I think there must be at least an entire hour of music missing from the CD! I would like to see a reissue like the one of "Raiders of The Lost Ark" in 1995, containing at least 30 minutes of previously unreleased material. And "Attack of The Clones" also needs a further release, I think. And (like most of you probably think) that shouldn`t be another "Ultimate Edition", as that would be horrible. In fact, ten times more than the one of "The Phantom Menace".
  9. "The Phantom Menace" became one of the all time greatest box office hits when it came out in 1999. But I`ve rarely seen any movie beeing that criticized! If it was anything positive I ever heard about it, it was about John Williams` music, which was (yes indeed) excellent! Anyhow, "Attack of The Clones" didn`t became the hit it was expected to be. May be many SW fans that saw "The Phantom Menace" were so disappointed that they didn`t even saw the sequel. Do any of you believe the same as I do,the fact that the Star Wars interest in the world is fading away?
  10. Together with "The Land Before Time", "Willow" is the best score of Horner`s career and comes from the period when Horner knew what originality was. I agree that "Willow" was a whole lot better than the new SW trilogy, especially "The Phantom Menace".
  11. Well, I think that the three first books are excellent, however, "Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire" is horrible! That makes me worried. As the latest book was crap, I have lost many expectations I had on book 5 of the series - in fact, I am even questioning if all the seven books will ever be written (and I am even more doubtfull HP4 and the others will be made into movies). If they are making the three first books on film, then we`ll have excellent books transformed into a trilogy of excellent movies. One reason why HP is so popular (I think), is that the concept is very original. Rowling has written a "one of a kind book" - I mean, there has never been a book about a boy from the modern world who becomes a wizard. At least not in that way.
  12. I voted for "Return of The Jedi". The end title music is just so exciting, like another big adventure is awaiting out there. I mean, it leaves you so excited. Every time I listen to that end title music, I feel something special in me. The ewok parade almost makes me laugh, the Luke & Leia theme makes me feel serious, and the ending fanfare closes the Star Wars saga for ever!
  13. Well, I haven`t read the book but I´ve read lots about the movie. I think we could expect something very emotional from Mr Williams this time. May be something like "A.I." but without any sci-fi influences. Or perhaps a little "Minority Report". We will probably have a little exciting music too. Anyhow, I think the film is gonna bomb!
  14. As AOTC has been as critisized as it is, I don`t believe it`s gonna have any Oscars. (Episode I didn`t won a single one - it lost them all to "The Matrix", which also was a ways better movie). But perhaps AOTC could get nominations for BEST SOUND EFFECTS BEST VISUAL EFFECTS BEST SOUND EFFECTS EDITING And (unlikely, but I really hope so) BEST ORIGINAL SCORE
  15. Probably the first duel between Luke and Darth Vader in "The Empire Strikes Back", largely thanks to John Williams music but also the excitement of the sequence as a whole - that moment is the war at it`s darkest.
