LOL...for some reason this reminds me of the TNG episode "The Game".

Started it last night when I first saw the thread, and finished the last level just a short while ago (not all at once of course). Now I need to finish Fantastic Contraptions.

...Oh wait, that was just the fireworks. Well, maybe they're real this time.


As I understand it, the footprint fireworks at the beginning of the opening ceremonies did actually happen, but for the television broadcast (and perhaps the screens in the Bird's Nest), they used the "cinematic device", aka CGI.  Bob Costas did a really bad job of stating that it wasn't the actual fireworks they were showing; he described the entire ceremony as "cinema".
