  1. What are internet special webs? Yeah...TNV doesn't look like the place to go for me. The guy in charge was very snotty to me anyways. BTW...I like your icon CHS. I've been trying to get some score to fit in the parameters. Has anyone guessed what that music is yet? I know what it is...but I won't blab it out in case you don't want people to know.
  2. I'm looking for a few. One being Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra. Another being Indy's First Adventure. Finally I'd say March of the Slave Children. Those are the main ones. Does score trader trade PRINTED scores too?
  3. Can anyone tell me where to look to purchase or borrow Williams' or Elfman scores that are not at sheetmusicplus...or hal and leonard or warner bros? I'm talking about the actual scores...like the ones recorded. I've been to Themes and Variations...but I've never gotten anything from there because they are really difficult about lending scores. Can anyone help me? Has anyone used Themes and Variations?
  4. Hey all, I am in need of some really powerful movie music. I am going to play a piece every day for my band...it calms them down and gets them focused. Now...unfortunately...the music can't be anything like Jaws Indiana Jones or Star Wars...because too many people know it...and it will get them talking even more. Can anyone help me by listing the titles to some really powerful, bombastic...exciting film themes...other than John Williams'? Thanks!
  5. Really? Is that a fact, or is that the impression you get? Either way, you are right in my opinion. Music can be what we make of it. I am in love with the piece whether it be about failed romance, or his dog dying. Imagining it about a failed romance really puts it into perspective though.
  6. Have any of you ever heard Adagio for Strings? I'd imagine you have. I'm not sure exactly why Samuel Barber wrote this piece...what was going through his head...but God...it's got so much pain in it...yet so much life and hope. Imagine a 100 member marching band...high school. Imagine them all talking and fooling around in the band room before practice. I started to play Adagio for Strings on the speaker systems in our band room...and by the end of the piece...the room was DEAD SILENT. You couldn't even hear anyone breathing. After that, I gave them a 20 minute talk about what music does for the soul...and they even stayed silent through that speech. It's such a powerful piece.
  7. Pianoman Yes...it does usually matter what order you put the instruments in. Honestly...the only reason it matters is because the conductors..or instructors are very used to looking at a score a certain way. When the instruments are changed, then they can't pick things out as easily...or study a score as easily. An example of this would be to say the alphabet. Once you finished...now try saying it out of order. I'm not talking about backwards either...say it completely out of order from memory. Did you get all the letters? If not...which ones did you leave out? Ya see what I mean? That is the main reason why scores have a set pattern. If you would like that pattern...feel free to E-mail me...and I'll get right back to ya!
  8. Pianoman... I'm not saying my way is the only way to go. Ren was right in saying that you are free to choose. I'm simply offering up some experience on the table. It worked for me...it may not work for you. Good luck with your writing!
