I feel so unlucky. I've never had a chance to meet JW, because a) I live 3,000 miles away from him and B) My parents won't let me go to the states on my own. I'm trying to drag my Dad with me to Chicago for the Nov/Dec concerts that he's doing, but it's looking as though I'll have to wait until he holds one at this side of the Atlantic. I think he'll be in London in almost 2 years time, so I'd say I'll have to wait until then! I must congratulate those of you who have been lucky enough to meet him, because I don't see it happening to me anytime soon.

As do I. Personally, while going to the movie theatre for the last two films, I've been more interested in the score than the plot!!! Star Wars will always be wonderful, but really, I hope George finally gets some sense and quits while he's...(I shouldn't really use the trem ahead!) But you get the idea right?

why is everybodyso angry with lucas/williams concerning aotc

I have to say, anyone who thinks that the AOTC score isn't that good is greatly mistaken. It is a fantasic score, even though it may not be as good as some of his others!!! -
Yeah, I suppose Anakin's Theme is quite moving. When I listen to it, it really makes me sad to think that poor Anakin's going to turn into an evil sith when he grows up!

(Here we go again) Your favorite Star Wars score to date
quaver replied to Chris ChrusherComix's topic in General Discussion
I like The Return of the Jedi. All of the forresty music on the second c.d is cool! Plus...I love Jedi Rocks! -
I hated Yoda in AOTC. He's way too computerised. He's just not the same like that!
-
I have to say E.T. Schindler's List is nice, but depressing!

As long as we are competing: Star Wars vs. Close Encounters
quaver replied to Ross's topic in General Discussion
This is a hard choice but I have to say Star Wars. It's happier and less eerie than Close Encounters! -
I don't think that Star Wars is fading. It's just that, where I live, some idiotic people actually think it's somehow totally uncool to be a fan. I have to ask...What is wrong with these types of people?
-
I really do have to agree with Fiery Angel on that one...And by the way...SUPERMAN RULES ALL SUPERHERO FILM SCORES

Autographed John Williams stuff - Who's got it and how?
quaver replied to Beowulf's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Ohhh, I try so hard to get replies from John Williams but I think he's a bit scared of me. I kinda went a bit psycho and overboard on praising him in my last letter I sent him...In fact, I went psycho in all of them! -
I'm sorry if anyone has already posted this! I just really wanted to know what scenes people love.
-
I have to say Jaws. The way the two notes a semitone apart can create such tension is amazing! It is so well done also, the way the music gradually gets faster and louder as the shark is coming closer!!
-
I'd have to say, even though Jaws is a better film than Jurassic Park, the score for Jurassic Park was slightly more exciting. The music for Jaws has a wonderful affect on a person if they're watching it, but if you're listening to it on c.d, it's a little bit boring!!!

I have to agree. He does seem to have a thing with triplets. But some of his best pieaces are full of them. For example, The Star Wars theme, Duel of the Fates, Across the stars, Harry's wondrous world.
