  1. I'm actually getting the hang of it now.
  2. I recall seeing Star Trek: Insurrection for the first time in a while, knowing some of the score extremely well. At one point, I knew we'd see the Enterprise in the next cut because the music was going to play the TMP/TNG theme. It was a fleetingly exhilarating feeling that did not diminish my enjoyment. Granted, I'd technically already seen the movie; it is admittedly different when seeing a movie the first time. But knowing the pacing of the music becomes one way of many to experience the narrative of a movie.
  3. I suspect it has to do with whether the experience is primarily aural or tied to a visual imagination. I noticed comments to the effect that listening conjures an image of the movie that might not match reality, whereas I see nothing in particular, even when I know the movie (unless I'm actively trying to match it to my memory of the picture).
  4. I see now my Classic FM short shares should have been here: https://youtube.com/shorts/-f2K1RJ6xQY?si=jAbLdIUNDxnohoHu (No embed, it seems.) Even this mentions the score (at 1:17):
  5. I'm hearing The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing and Heartbeeps.
  6. Spielberg talking with London's Classic FM: https://youtube.com/shorts/-f2K1RJ6xQY?si=4_nJmqqKmfEgT60O I can't figure out which thread this belongs in, but this seems most active.
  7. Since it isn't shipping until July, would stores likely only get it in July? I have a local record store that might carry it. I suppose I could ask them for it.

  9. I somehow managed to ask Giacchino about this once (on social media, I think?), and he said that it is actually his producer (or whatever the position would be) who comes up with the track titles. I think the same is probably true in this case, though I do wonder how much Williams has had input on the concert suite names (when they aren't technical titles, like "Suite"). That brings up another question, as these concert suites followed him around as a conductor. I wonder whether someone will take up that mantle and bring a concert suite of this movie's music around with them as they conduct in the next decades.
  10. I don't think it's just your humor, or even humor more broadly. Seems hard to communicate in general these days... meanings are assumed, words are ignored or defined differently, etc. Now I'm not just talking about this forum. This sounds like something Spielberg might address in the movie, speaking of communication and conflicting motives!
  11. If CE3K featured a song from a hit Disney movie 37 years prior, does that mean DD will feature "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," or "Kiss the Girl," depending on what way the movie takes the aliens to be or the main characters' relationships?
