It is just a formality, they always planned to film the whole series and even overlap filming of seasons. I am sure, that at least the first 3 seasons are already definite. If then the first season flops, they may reconsider after that.

But I don´t understand how it is applied to this thread. Who is bringing weapons?

I don´t understand the reference. I agree that the main theme is not all over the place, this is not what I wanted to say. It is more that there is not enough other musical substance in between. So it alternates between "boring" bits and "boring" main theme. Written in quotes, since of course it is a too drastic, simplistic expression, but it often tends to be a bit like this. I do not say it is BAD, it is just by far not as good as most other scores from this time like Angelas Ashes, Episode I, AI and HP1, which are all excellent and even masterpieces. Another way to express my sentiments: There is much more filler material in this score than in others, and the score would be nicely represented by a roughly 30 min long suite. And normally I prefer C&C presentations. I don´t know about modern and establishment since I am neither, but for me it is a dust collector. It may be a very good score in the sense of fitting and enhancing the movie, but as music only experience it is lacking IMO.

As usual late to the party, I finally managed to listen to this. It took so long partially because I never warmed to the OST. But since in many cases the complete Soundtrack paints a different picture and makes the overall experience much better, I listend to the expanded version in order to decide if the very expensive 3-CD set would be worth it. I needed three attempts to finally get through, and this is indicative of my opinion of the music: I still do not like it very much. The first few tracks are very good, but then it starts getting very repetitive. Yes, there are some nice moments, but also a lot of empty patriotism and fanfare. Part of the problem is perhaps the very simplistic nature of the main theme that is repeated over and over again without much variation or harmonic experimentation to make it engaging. Perhaps fitting the movie, I don´t know since I never saw it. In short: I will delete the download and not buy the CDs. Not every Williams soundtrack is worth it having every note. I still have the OST, and that is already more than I want to listen to.

John Williams score with the most bangers?
Gurkensalat replied to TheUlyssesian's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
For me the only movie with more than 1 generally recognizable theme is Star Wars (Main Theme and Force Theme). Even Potter has only Hedwigs Theme. Home alone is at least here in Germany not as popular as it may be in the US, so I doubt many here would recognise the music from that. -

Tintin 2 und 3. Now, so that Williams can compose. -
Steven Spielberg Developing a Western Movie
Gurkensalat replied to Once's topic in General Discussion
I have seen it. And have seen the original several times. I love the original and it is a very good movie. Spielbergs is better IMO. Just compare the "America" sequence. But I think I do not need to see a Western by Spielberg. -
There are a lot, but Tintin is the score I can always listen to and for me it never gets old. It may not his best score, but for me it is the most listenable and entertaining. Closely followed by Empire strikes back, Raiders and Close Encounters (all three objectively even better scores), if I am in the mood for something more dramatic. But Tintin is the one score where I never have the urge to skip a track.
