  1. Lucky the Imperial officer went with "solo" though, just think of what might have been. Imperial Officer: "Who are your people?" Han: "I don't have any people. I'm alone." Imperial Officer: "Alone? Han Alone" *cue 'somewhere in my memory'
  2. We have Disclosure Day Fever, it affects the ability to focus.
  3. Yeah that was a great clip. Since the 'they're all dead' joke has already been made, I will just say that I'm really glad that Steven Spielberg is many things....but he is not a man that you can say 'no' to!
  4. Ah true, thanks Jay. Full Disclosure, I missed that....thanks @Tom, you also did not disappoint.
  5. I was waiting for this joke to appear, @BB-8 you did not disappoint!
  6. For me I can exist in both modes, and switch. I wonder if you 'practiced' doing that, if you could achieve enjoyment still in some listening that didn't require your full attention? I can be in focus mode and sit, and zone in for a detailed listening session. But, I can also switch to 'background listening' while doing something else, not full attention but I still enjoy it. I understand where you're coming from, I used to be more rigid with music listening myself, but I've relaxed it over the years, or rather, changes in the structure of my life didn't allow for me to give music listening that level of attention at all times, so I adapted.
  7. This can be really fun sometimes, and also very jarring sometimes.
  8. I love to alternate between 'classical' music and film music, and I don't go for very long without mixing some John Williams into things. I do listen to him pretty regularly. I'll mix in some Rock/pop/ jazz once and a while also. I listen both in a passive sense, during some of the work day, or when doing things around the house, and also intentionally, just sitting in front of speakers or with headphones. @filmmusic In regard to your falling asleep due to the tiredness of the day, have you tried having small mini-listening sessions? Like, maybe sit down with a drink and listen to a Williams score for just 10 minutes? Maybe it's short enough to not get too sleepy from the exhaustiveness of the day, but could be a daily ritual. I've certainly tried sitting through longer listening sessions on a day where I'm tired and will totally start to close my eyes & fall asleep.
  9. I drive the family around in a Honda CR-V, but when I'm just cruising somewhere alone, I am rocking some 80s music* in my 1982 Corolla. *by 80s music, I mean Training Montage from SpaceCamp, very loud.
  10. He was recruited to help out with the re-shoots going on for Episode X.
  11. Thanks @Naïve Old Fart @GerateWohl and @Stark for the great suggestions! I'll seek these out.
  12. Only a few for me. Am I missing any good scores by these people? Aaron Zigman - Bridge to Terabithia Andrew Lockington - Journey to the Center of the Earth Earnest Gold - A Child is Waiting George S Clinton - Austin Powers Ilan Eshkiri - Stardust Jan AP Kaczmarek - Finding Neverland Marc Streitenfeld - Prometheus Thomas Wanker/ Wander - Independence Day: Resurgence
  13. This live to picture concert must be such a workout for the orchestra. There's so many technically difficult passages throughout for every section of the orchestra.
  14. I think the likeness is actually not too bad, I do want one! I'd really like a nice John Williams action figure with lots of cool accessories. Black turtleneck, removable glasses, turkey sandwich and sunkist, a couple batons, pencil and score pad, deluxe version can come with a grand piano, you can press a button on his back and cycle through famous quotes, the "i know, but they're all dead", "anne Sophie mutter is many things....but she is NOT a woman you csn say no to"
  15. To celebrate, yesterday I put on a big playlist of everything John Williams I have, and shuffled it. It was fun to not know what was coming, to try and guess what it was if it was something I'm less familiar with. It really put into perspective what a wide scope of styles and sounds he has from decade to decade. Oh and what a strange mix it was to go from A.I. to John Goldfarb, to Raiders to Fitzwilly, to Lincoln, to Lost In Space....etc.
