  1. Hound Dog and Wake Up Little Susie were also two of the biggest hits of 1957.
  2. I think you are all missing my point. There seems to be a obvious flaw in his character that makes him fallible. That flaw is that when he has a problem in his PERSONAL life, he dodges it. Example one: he ran away from home when he could not get along with his father. Example two: He escapes from his office to avoid his students. Example three: His planned marriage with Marion. And I just noticed the link with Hound Dog and the character names. Anyway, I think I started this thread to discuss the use of popular music in each sequel to tie in with the story. The character trait thing is subjective.
  3. All of You? I never heard of that song and I thought I knew oldies.
  4. As I'm thinking about the movie and it's opening sequence, I realized the use of Hound Dog is very appropriate for the plot. It's referring to Indiana as the "Hound Dog" for running away from his personal responsibilites and also other people (his father, Marion, grading papers, etc). All his life he has dodged his responsibities such as planning for college and going off to war in Europe or Mexico instead. I also think he was aware of Marion's pregnancy but may have been in denial so he ran away from the wedding all those years ago. "Wake Up, Little Susie" may also be appropriate but I am not criticizing the plot of the movie lol. I loved it. Temple of Doom begin with "Anything Goes" as to say that after we've een the power of Yahweh, we must accept that now anything is possible such as the existence of other dieties. I think it also refers to how dark and violent the movie was. And finally in Last Crusade we heard "Sweet Little Headache". This needs no explanation, just read the lyrics.
  5. I'm still waiting to see the Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies with everything in them that you fanboys want. When are they coming out? Some people are never happy.
  6. Ok guys, who here has read the original version of Back to the Future? The whole Doomtown thing with hiding in the refrigerator from an atomic explosion was the climax. If you have the BTTF DVDs, you can see the original draft for yourself in the DVDROM portion. No fooling! LMAO. I wonder if Spielberg did this on purpose.
  7. Boys and girls, I am listening to the cd right now (I cannot divulge how I got it, sorry) and John Williams has pulled it off again! I watched the music featurette on the Indy DVD bonus disc (the 2003 one) last night and John said how he couldn't wait for Indy 4 so he could write another Indy score. He wasn't lying. This one is amazing. Wait until you hear The Spell of the Skull. There is definately a huge reference to Raiders in this movie besides Marion returning. All I'll say is go back and listen to The Map Room-Dawn. My curiosity so peaked right now. One week to go!!! "It's not the years, it's the mileage."
  8. In early April 2002, someone leaked a promotional copy of AOTC including the Conveyor Belt track and it found its way onto a certain filesharing network that no longer exists. Then 3 weeks before ROTS came out, the same thing happened. It was so cool to hear the entire soundtrack one month before it hit stores. I'm hoping that would happen again
  9. Melissa Mathison married Harrison Ford after ET and ROTJ came out. She wrote the screenplay for ET. That's Harrison as the principal but he's doing a nerdy voice. Pretty funny I think although I can see why the scene was cut. The was the first time I saw the nurses part and alternate ending though - thanks!
