  1. I think the problem for me is that there have been fewer new film scores that have "spoken" to me like they used to. Perhaps my tastes have changed a bit, but then again, so has the current film score landscape. And since nothing new is sounding much like the old (in terms of what attracted me to film scores in the first place), perhaps it's kind of fizzled out for me overall. Especially since listening to the same great scores over and over again can become wearisome eventually, unless there is an extended break from them. I feel like I am in that phase now.
  2. Yeah I had meant that Varese could release the complete version. I know it leaked a very long time ago in full, but who knows if maybe there was more that wasn't leaked? And it would just be nice to have. Oddly enough, it was one of his first scores I got into back then.
  3. This gives me hope a Varese complete reissue of Goldsmith's Timeline is on the way then, especially since they just re-released the Brian Tyler version several months ago. One could assume this trend is true for all soundtrack labels.
  4. Yeah it's honestly ruined my score collection for CDs since now several things I wanted on CD only had vinyl releases, so I just succumbed to digital. It seems like if they have to choose between CD and vinyl these days (and can't or won't do both) they go for vinyl. Oh well.
  5. Why would they give an eBay account to someone else? That's really odd.
  6. Holy crap! That's awful. I actually talked to him once many years ago. Mostly about how he wanted his Beasts music release to finally have music from the episodes that hadn't made it to the album. Luckily, he finally made that happen not long ago. RIP.
  7. The Myst & Riven soundtracks have been released digitally for some time now, with new remasters and tracks compared to their '90s CD counterparts. You can find them across YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. For example, here are their Spotifys for their remastered/expanded albums: And of course, Qobuz as well: https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/myst-original-game-soundtrack-remastered-2022-robyn-miller/lbesmnqrbofub https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/riven-original-game-soundtrack-remastered-2024-robyn-miller/ujwn3w98rm2kb Adding these details to the main post as well.
  8. Did anyone here play Cyan's Myst & Riven games (including their fairly recent remakes)? Riven is one of my favorite games of all time, and its music score was atmospheric and unforgettable. Recently, the LP Vinyl release of the soundtrack to the classic game Riven by Robyn Miller was released. https://www.fangamer.com/collections/myst/products/riven-soundtrack-vinyl Previously, the original Myst game go the same treatment. https://www.fangamer.com/collections/myst/products/myst-vinyl-ost Both have digital releases as well, including Riven at Robyn's Bandcamp (that comes with a cool map). Otherwise, their new remasters and tracks can be found across YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. For example, here are their Spotifys for their remastered/expanded albums: And of course, Qobuz as well: https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/myst-original-game-soundtrack-remastered-2022-robyn-miller/lbesmnqrbofub https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/riven-original-game-soundtrack-remastered-2024-robyn-miller/ujwn3w98rm2kb Does anyone else love these scores, especially Riven's? I think the latter is a true masterpiece in atmospheric game scoring, and is truly stands on its own. Also: can La-La Land Records or someone please re-release new CD versions (with these new remasters and tracks)?
  9. It definitely has that similar sound... and is heavily featured in a track called "Clever Girl," no less (which is also a line in the movie). Very weird coincidences when you put them together. Total Recall came out three years before Jurassic Park, for those younglings who don't know.
  10. If they don't want more bootlegs to slip through their fingers, they will release it on physical media!
  11. Uh oh... Here comes the Chamber of Secrets debate! 😉
  12. I was bothered by this news until I remembered, "Oh yeah, Williams only did the first three anyway. We've already been a long way from Kansas, Dorothy."
  13. I know and LP vinyl release is coming. But do we still not have any intel on a CD release?
  14. Crazy that Disney felt they needed to build a theme park land to give us the Blue Milk cart just so we could all find out!
