  1. I'm so bummed the sequels never materialized. I really loved the film! The story I'd heard was the Spielberg would do the first one, Peter Jackson the second one, and they would either both direct the third film or have Robert Zemeckis come in. Can't speak to how true any of those are.
  2. One of the musicians who played on the main title (but not the rest of the score, interestingly enough) told me that Williams had in fact written three possible main titles. When he told me this, it must have been spring 2010 - well over a year before the movie opened and he said they had recorded it not too long before then. His impression was that Spielberg & Peter Jackson would pick the one they liked best and Williams said that one possibility for the other two was that they could be used as possible main titles for the subsequent Tintin films (at the time, a trilogy of films had been announced). Reminds me of the alternate prologue Williams had written for War of the Worlds. Both versions were recorded according to the session breakdown sheet and my assumption was that the one that ended up in the movie was the one Spielberg liked the best.
  3. Hello everyone. I've heard that at the open rehearsals, one can go in and sit wherever they like as they are open to the public. However, I have read stories online of people who have met him at such rehearsals. I managed to get tickets to the concert on the evening of September 4, 2009 and am also attending the rehearsal. They're usually on the same day as the first concert planned, right? Anyway, if anyone could tell me how they've met Mr. Williams at these rehearsals or have gotten items signed by him there or even after the concert please let me know how. Also, does the LA Philharmonic talk to the audience during their brakes? I have a couple questions as I am a horn/clarinet/saxophone player so I would love to get some pointers from the musicians. Thanks to whoever replies and may the force be with you
  4. Okay, I live in the LA area and the Hollywood Bowl is only an hour away. I need someone who has been to one of the open rehearsals to give me directions on how to get in. Do you just drive in as you would normally? Oh and how do I get behind the stage to the entrance through wich Mr. Williams enters and exits? Please help! It's my life's dream to get to meet Mr. Williams! Thanks in advance.
