Well, I don't listen to John Williams anymore too... no matter how hard he tries to talk to me. He's not gonna convince me that his albuns edits are the way to go!

Hmm... Raiders was the first Indy, so Temple of Doom and Last Crusade are latter Indys. So my vote is for Temple of Doom.

I was refering specifically to the isolated music, not the movie itself, as I hadn't listened to this one in ages. As it's common knowledge, source music or tracked music don't always "survive" when it comes to bonus feature like isolated music. So yes, I indeed didn't remember the Jaws bit (no pun intended) surviving all the way to the isolated music track, and curiously, in glourious stereo (in 1996 Jaws was only mono yet, if I'm not mistaken). Since it sounds different (i.e. from a different source than the one available since 2000), it begged the question as for superior sources for the film recording sessions being available in 1996. I'd worry more about discernment capabilities than dementia, though.

I totally misremembered that the 1996 Laserdisc of "1941" had JW's isolated music score on the analog tracks (which was also ported to the 1999 DVD), and it actually had Jaws music on it, when their mocking Chrissie's death scene in the beginning. It's curious how it sounds different from the mix we have available today (somewhat with more clarity, I think). But it maybe evidence that once there was a superior source available. Five John Williams titles in the works at Intrada for 2026
phbart replied to BrotherSound's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I believe the OST album has some different takes here and there (typical JW), not really sure exactly what cues. If I'm not mistaken those alternate takes are only available on the OST album sources and not the film tracks (hence why the OST presentation on CD2 is from the album master tapes and not reconstructed from other elements). It's not clear what exactly the new source for the OST album was for that alternate release, but it's the one available on all streamings as of today. MM will disagree (and he has a point, as he stated in his interview back in 2015), but to me it does sounds better than the Intrada release, film tracks or OST regardless. -

Also, a superior source for the OST album was located (by another label) the same time Intrada was preparing their expanded release back then, and apparently they did not had access to this material, so they were "stuck" with album master tape. -

Could be the four Spielberg's Indiana Jones and a remastered Jaws 2. -

I forgot that one. Hey, we have enough material to warrant a "Ford/Williams Collaboration" boxset!
-
Han Solo is in both.
