  1. Wow! it's been a long time since i visited this site again and i find this amazing composing contest: What a pity there isn't more compositions, 'cos the ones in here are just wonderful!! But i had to choose and i decided (after a careful listening at each cue) that my vote went to "POA suite". I like it very much not only for the style in it, but also for the atmosphere that creates: it sounds so much like John Williams!!! The other compositions were also very beautiful and charming! I don`t think "Hermione's crush" fits to the character but the composition is great and very progressive till a nice "climax" towards the end. "Magic", well, the title suits the composition 8O Great cue, I enjoyed it very much. I always liked JW's themes from "Home Alone" and this track has a lot of that spirit. "The Second task", also a great composition, although i think that those drums over the first two minutes reminds me more an atmosphere from a war film. But the rest of the cue is very depicting (is that spelled that way? i'm spanish and i have my doubts about that word, hehe), just like Mr. Williams like to do. Also, good changes of the rythm, perfectly chained from my point of view. "Dobby the elf", an excellent cue but i felt it was a bit saturated of themes and motifs; one after other, without a rest for the listener. But those were very enjoying, i can assure 8O Well, i have to be grateful for having enjoyed such great compositions; i'd vote the compositors reviewed their own cues after the voting is finished, wouldn't it be interesting? A salute for everybody, this forum carries on with that great atmosphere that made me got in here a year ago 8O P.D. My paragraphs, phrases and words may (i'd better say:"surely" XD) contain errors who may lead to misunderstandings, i hope not. But if that's the case i feel sorry and i would ask you to inform me. I've been learning english for almost ten years but i still have a long way to walk to a full understanding of your language.
  2. Well, there are a lot of special cues and scenes in Star Wars, but if i had to choose one... Maybe I'd say the scene when Luke watches the funeral pyre for Darth Vader as it's burning; wow, i saw that moment in video (well, i'm from the Jurassic Park age ) but i felt like in a cinema: i could only look at the tv, feeling the great music for that unique images. Well, from the prequels i'd say the cue "duel of the fates" when darth maul appears in front of quigon and obi wan...wonderful
  3. hehehe, well I'm glad i'm not the only who began to really know Mr. Williams from Jurassic Park. It must be some kind of conspiracy, but journey from the island was also very impressive (the most impressive, i assure) to me when I saw the film in the cinema. Well, I really think that the music seduced me really when I bought the film in VHS and saw it twelve times! during the first week. I wonder now, many years from that, how only a film could give me such interest about the works of John Williams and Spielberg. Well, that reminds me I have a DVD to buy...damned special edition of Jurassic Park, everybody buys before I can get it hehe I think i will liberate my rage for vengeance XD
  4. wow! it looks pretty interesting! can you send me a copy too? (if it's not a problem, no matter if you can't) better tou my mail account luciusmalfoy@eresmas.com Maybe this will be the final "thing" who can push me to learn piano at last
  5. Well as you say, I hit the wrong button! Even a lammer wouldn't do such a thing like that but...well it's done. Sorry for the people I disturbed. (I'll be more careful). Once the thing's done I'll use this post for something useful for everybody who wants: Many people (who doesn't like John Williams very much) always tell that JW lacks of variety on soundtracks like Saving Private Ryan or The Patriot. I always reply telling them that is a way to show the experience and feelings from the movie as good as a very variated soundtrack. What do you think? I'll be watching all of you...
  6. I finally chose "Death Star Aproach". Simply amazing, I had to hear every track before choosing because they're all superb! hahaha Well, first I was going to vote "Imperial attack", you know, that cue gives you emotions that whoaaa! it's like seeing the movie for the first time. But I have to recognise that the fact of having selected "Death Star Aproach" is because the Imperial March hehehe Everyone has his weaknesses, even an evil guy like me! Sleep with one opened-eye! You never know who's gonna gotcha in the middle of the night!
  7. First of all, hello to everybody. I'm glad to be sorrounded of people who love Master Williams music. Well, it's been a heavy task, but these ones are my preferred: 1. Jurassic Park 2. Harry Potter & The philosopher's stone 3. Schindler's list 4. SW: The Phantom menace 5. SW: The empire strikes back 6. JP: The Lost World 7. Indiana Jones & The last crusade 8. Jaws 9. E.T. 10. Sabrina Well, i suffered lefting so good scores behind in the selection, but i'll make a brief hearing to them now for recompensating the offense Otra cosa, aún no estoy seguro de si se debe hablar sólo en inglés o si se puede utilizar (sin perjuicio para los usuarios) también el castellano. De cualquier forma, un saludo para todos. Hi to everybody! P.D.: I read the FAQ but i'm still a bit lost about the permission of avatars in this forum. :? Who i have to contact to ask for permission? thanks
