Muad'Dib replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I tend to return to the ending tracks, so I'm guessing reprise will be one of my most played tracks. HYPED -

A.I. is flawed but brilliant, Minority Report is ok and WOTW is great up until the third act where it falls apart. I'm not sure what exactly happened to Spielberg post 1993-ish where he lost the ability to form a cohesive narrative in his popcorn-oriented films. It's like most of them are set pieces barely stringed together.

Absolutely lovely! Courting Valka is my #1 highlight here.

I've seen about 5 or 6 episodes and visually it's stunning, but story-wise it hasn't quite grabbed me... Right now I've left it on hold for a while but someday I might return to it.

So WB is rebooting Westworld again with David Koepp writing the script
Muad'Dib replied to Jay's topic in General Discussion
Come now, he has written many other films. Mind you, a whole lot of them are not so good, but I always thought Koepp as an efficient, reliable workman sort of guy that get what's needed on time. I imagine that's why Spielberg keeps coming back to him. There's also something strange in Hollywood that while we read the credit "Written by so and so", it's often written by many other people that don't get credited for whatever reason or the script gets changed so much during production that it's almost unrecognizable from the actual original pages. That's very true, it took quite a while for the general public to consider it among Spielberg's great works.
