In Topic: How much are you looking forward to Minority Report?

03 June 2002 - 09:50 AM

I don't actually know what to expect from Williams, or Spielberg, this time.
But I don't care so much for the film as for the music.
Always looking forward to a new John Williams score.

It's normally taking some time before I buy the score, but I will - absolutely not affected by any other reviews about the score.
They could be nice or bad, but music is individual.

In Topic: Stepmom: Is it Worth It?

03 June 2002 - 09:30 AM

All I can say is that Stepmom is one of Williams' most overlooked scores. To me; it's much more attractive and rich than his other 'quiet' scores like Stanley And Iris or The Accidental Tourist.

The quote says it all. I completely agree with Roald here.
Just remember it's a slow, broody and dark score, but absolutely
worth listening to. It actually grows every time you listen to it.

Buy it - definately buy it.

World Cup: Uruguay - Denmark 1:2.  Yippikayeah....... :jump:

In Topic: Do you own a John Williams CD collection ?

28 May 2002 - 01:41 PM

I think that this place is a great place to talk about collections - your own or other peoples. Talk about the missing parts in the collection and maybe
ask anyone to trade the missing parts.

Why don't we put up a new categori under the message board here.
A great place would be under trading.

Is it a bad idea?

Great collection you do have, Vincent.
There's really something I could use.

Sorry, but my collection is not the net. But anyone could ask (mail) me for a copy.

In Topic: Spielberg / Williams Collaboration

I'll have to vote for Close Encounters.

The film and the music is probably the best ever made. They fit perfectly together.
Haven't seen A.I. yet, so......

I understand you say Raiders as well. Great film and music.

In Topic: NO Ultimate Edition of AOTC released by Sony!?

28 May 2002 - 01:18 PM

I actually enjoyed the TPM Ultimate Edition. Still do, of course.

Hope that Sony will release something like an UE. Then again I agree, that it would be great with an "unediting edition".

The reason for the short answer from Sony is probably - "Leave us alone. We'll decide what to do!!".
Probably been to many negative reactions to the TPM UE.
But what the heck - what do they actually think. Of course there will be a lot of reactions from people. Star Wars is THE MUSIC that people want.  :)

Aaaaaah. I have gone to far already.....  :P
