Hello Folks, Glad to be part of the team now and to contribute to the message board of this wonderful website that I've been reading for years now. Now on to the subject. I own THE EIGER SANCTION on two CD versions: the Varèse one and the japanese MCA edition. Both are strictly identical even though my guess is that the american pressing sounds a little bit better than the japanese. This soundtrack, even though out of print, can still be found and bought right now at Intrada's website. You can find the CD here: http://shopping.netledger.com/app/site/sit...it.A/id.1524/.f The score is quite great, showing Williams in top form prior to the Star Wars frenzy that followed two years later. And the "jazz meets the symphony" (the fact that Clint Eastwood, notorious jazz fan, directs this film must have something to do with this mix) kinda flavor attached to the score is sheer pleasure. A guilty treat if you like. Good Luck for the ones who are looking for this score.
