John Williams To Possibly Compose Deathly Hallows Films
Nimbus1944 replied to scallenger's topic in General Discussion
Slim possibilities, definite maybes and unsubstantiated desirable rumors accepted here. Woohoo, JW's coming back! -
Is it me or did they change certain tracktitles on GOF?
Nimbus1944 replied to Sandor's topic in General Discussion
The WB site only has 22 titles; where's Sirius and Rita? As for "Hogwart's." WB also managed to omit a comma on a GoF poster. Maybe they need a new composer in publicity, too. LOL -
It's probably just me, but Doyle's six-note Voldemort theme sounds like a stretch version of JW's three-noter...? Who's grunting in "Quidditch World Cup"? Music lovers? Good ones: interesting little melody at the beginning of 5, but not developed; 11, 12, 13 and the Hogwarts pieces. The rest of it sounds like background music. Jarvis scores 1 out of 3: "Magic Works" I could like. I'm still curious how JW would have scored the Weird Sisters. I'll get the CD, if only to keep the collection complete. Sooo.... is John free to do OotP??

The Story Continues: This Is The Night:

Book 1 says his 11th birthday is on Tuesday, 31 July, which is consistent with 2001, but not 1991. Also, the cake was old old old. The party could have taken place any year. Can't fight the keepers of the holy canon, though..

Michael Gambon's uncredited musical moment in POA -- humming "La Raspa" (Mexican hat dance tune) as he exits down the stairs. Dance numbers in the POA credits -- - the dancing footprints by John Williams' name in the crawl (close to being a box step); - the toe-tapping footprints by "La Cumparsita". And what are those face-to-face footprints up to by the Dolby symbol??

There I'll be at Midnight again, standing on line with several hundred fidgety house-elves -- :jump: :jump: -- and wishing Barnes & Noble served beer.

Congrats, JoeinAr - your Cedric filk is now officially enshrined with the other 1,900: http://home.att.net/~coriolan/newfilks.htm...#Cedric_Diggory

Spoken Languages: "Francais (Dubbed in Quebec)" C'est bon, eh.

And the composer for Harry Potter & GOF is.......
Nimbus1944 replied to ocelot's topic in General Discussion
Things to do: 1. Find a Patrick Doyle message board foolish enough to allow all the HP fans to move in and overload it; 2. Ask King Mark to change his signature photo, replacing Darth with a crowd scene of stranglers. Orcs might do. (Just kidding, JW.) Mike listening to Verdi's Requiem -
Robbie has always been negative about the future films... but it's nothing a lucrative long-term contract wouldn't cheer up. It must be negotiations time again. Stockard Channing was 34 when she made Grease. Shirley Henderson will be 38 in GoF. Do they look like teenagers? No way. But 21-year-old teens? No sweat. Ray's right; recasting now would be so wrong..

I'm sticking with Gambon. And who should do a walk-on as Archie, the fussy old wizard at the World Cup in GOF? I could see Patrick McGoohan. Mike

My error, Joe; it was ChrisAlfonso who asked about a previous PhotoShop image. Mike

JoeInAr was looking for a full-bearded Patrick Stewart, a la Dumbledore. Try Google/Images for "stewart king of texas". Mike

The Terminal and Harry Potter have come...and gone...
Nimbus1944 replied to King Mark's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
No problem here; I've had the CD since the first day. But I thought someone might want to know, so you can take down the link on the POA page. Mike "... because if you haven't noticed, we're on your side." (Order of The Phoenix, chap. 12)
