  1. Yes! The beautiful rendition of "A New Beginning", written in the same key and possibly inspired by the Adagio from Mahler's Symphony No. 5.
  2. It's quite unusual these days for a Director (or any crew member) to be speaking to the audience in movie trailers. I remember Charlton Heston doing it for the Planet of the Apes trailer and perhaps Alfred Hitchcock for some of his movies. Any other examples? Must be a little nod to a classic era of Hollywood.
  3. So I checked Mondo, and say if the Disclosure Day CD is $25, it'll cost me another $16.95 US to ship to Canada, for a total of $41.95. Checked shipping to the UK just for fun and it appears to be the same price.
  4. Oh just noticed now the split happened in 2004. Because until then the Universal stuff was put out by MCA Records, then Vivendi who owned Universal (both pictures and music divisions) until the split when Universal was sold to GE (and later Comcast), so I thought the deal was still ongoing despite the change in ownership structure. Angela's Ashes (Paramount and Universal co-production) - Decca The Terminal (Dreamworks then distributed by Universal before the sale to Paramount) - Decca War of the Words (Dreamworks/Paramount then distributed by Universal before the Dreamworks sale to Paramount) - Decca Munich (Dreamworks and Universal) - Decca The other scores I guess Williams' existing deal with Sony Classical took precedence.
  5. Ridiculous that given this is a John Williams score we are talking about and that it's a Universal Picture it's written for that Universal's own classical music division Decca can't give this historic and possibly-final score a proper wide distribution physical CD release.
  6. Does Mondo distribute to retail stores as well, or would it only be available from their own website?
  7. And premiered by the Maestro himself at the 2027 Spring Pops or Tanglewood concerts if his health improves?
  8. That Friendship Theme reprise in Remembering Emily and Finale when Albert comes home and falls into his mother's arms with the cellos and all strings going full vibrato... Truly deserved the Oscar more than "The Artist".
  9. Usually soundtracks were released in stores on the Tuesday just prior to the Friday theatrical release date as they were part of the promotional material for the film. I get they likely wish to avoid spoilers, so they can deliver them to stores but make the sales embargoed until Friday June 12 (as they may have done with Rise of Skywalker - the last CD i picked up in store on the release date).
  10. And yet no sku of the soundtrack CD to be found listed anywhere. Hope it won't be as difficult to get our hands on a physical copy than it was with Dial of Destiny!
  11. Being a Universal picture, might it be a Decca release though rather than Sony Classical?
  12. Nobody's mentioned Fawkes the Phoenix yet?
  13. Is that the NSO's temporary home during the Kennedy Center renovations? - Oh nevermind. Just noticed it's an outdoor venue. Kind of like the DC area's Tanglewood but probably with amplification. :/ That St. Louis performance looks mighty tempting...
  14. If BSO Insider is reading this, please try to get Hook scheduled with the Boston Pops next December as well! Would fit perfectly between Christmas and New Year's. I truly believe Hook to be Williams' magnum opus and I would be delighted to finally hear the full score live in best venue imaginable (Symphony Hall)!
