Grail Diary

05 November 2008 - 12:24 AM

Hi everyone! So a couple of weeks ago I was chatting with Romão about this subject, but I didn't have time until now to open a thread.
In short, what do you think of the many Grail Diary prop replicas you can fin on eBay?
Here's some:

Link 1 - I think this is the best one. Great auction page look too.

Link 2 - This is made by an Italian guy. I'm very undecided between this and the previsious one. But this is much more expensive...

Link 3 - This doesn't look bad, but doesn't really convince me as the previsious two.

There are also ridiculous versions:
Link 4 - Just look at the corners of the book.

Link 5 - This has too few pages and doesn't look that "hand written" like the others (and like the original is intended to be).

Link 6 - This looks too colored. You have to think that the original is supposed to be written at the beginning of the 1900, and was pretty much in black and white.

Bye!

Is the official release of "Bad Boys" worth buying?

27 October 2007 - 04:19 AM

I mean, I have the Region 2 DVD which feature the isolated score, so I did my own complete bootleg.

I think it's a great "alternative" score, a valuable score since it's from Media Venture, and certainly over their standards.
And I always like to have the original CD for having the booklet, but in this case, well, I feel like wasting money since I guess that all the music on the official CD was already on the isolated track of the DVD. Or there's any extra cue?

Action Figures

24 October 2007 - 11:44 AM

Do you have any action figure?
I have several (in order of purchasing):
  • McFarlane's Jimi Hendrix Boxed Set (link) (the only one not bought through eBay, but bought in New York City in 2004) Based on the historical Woodstock concert.
  • NECA's John McClane (link) (Cult Classic Series 3) Based on the first Die Hard movie.
  • McFarlane's Shaft (link) (Movie Maniacs 3) Based on the movie with Samuel L. Jackson.
  • NECA's Freddie Mercury (link) Based on the Magic Tour.
  • McFarlane's Slash (link) One of the best guitarists ever in a tipical look and pose.
  • 3D Stars' Adriano (link) One of the best strikers in the world, if he wants...
  • Fanatico's Fabio Cannavaro (link) The human Berlin Wall (in a positive way...). I don't love the position of the figure, but he was so important in Italy's victory I couldn't miss his figure (which is well done anyways).
  • Fanatico's Francesco Totti (link) Not impressive in the World Cup, but I like the position if this figure (there's an identical variant with the Roma colours)
  • Fanatico's Alessandro Del Piero (link) I love this tipical free kick position.
  • Fanatico's Paolo Rossi (link) The hero (and best scorer) of the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
  • McFarlane's Shaquille O'Neal + NBA Backboard Two Pack (link) It's the position of his logo too, which symbolize the incredible power of Shaq, one of the most predominant players ever. I'd love to get the original red shirt figure, but the Two Pack only came with the white shirt variant. This was the 2nd Shaq figure by McFarlane, from NBA Basketball Series 8.
  • NECA's Kurt Cobain 1 (link) Based on the Smell Like Teen Spirit video.
  • NECA's Kurt Cobain 2 (link) Based on the MTV Unplugged in New York concert. I've never been a fan of Nirvana, but I like those figures (mostly because Kurt was left handed).
  • McFarlane's Kobe Bryant (link) Third Bryant figure, from NBA Basketball Series 9.
  • McFarlane's Dwyane Wade (link) First Wade figure, also from NBA Basketball Series 9.
Coming soon:
McFarlane's Shaquille O'Neal 3 (link) from NBA Basketball Series 13, coming out December 2007. This way I'll have all of 3 Miami Heat colours, since this is red and it come after the white Shaq and the black Wade figures.
I maybe could buy the McFarlane's figures about The Simpsons Movie, but I'm not sure, I'll decide when I'll see them in stores.
I like their Shrek figures too, but my bedroom is starting lacking space now. :)

I'd also love to have get this from McFarlane, but unfortunately it's impossible to find in stores, and it's too expensive to buy from eBay.

Any news?

10 December 2006 - 09:35 PM

What's happened in the last few months?
Any links to funny stuff happened here?

I see I'm still pretty popular (or infamous, for that matter), judging by the time my name poppe dup even if I wasn't active.

Stefan, there's no connection in me disappearing from the board when Neil disappeared from the board as well. I think he can confirm this, as I've been hearing anything from him for ages.

Last times I posted, I remember King Mark having eye's problem. Is that solved?

What happened to me? Despite totally uninteresting, nothing particular happened. I left for a while since I don't have that much free time.
Got an iPod in the meanwhile, and spent much of the little free time I have filing it up with some of my CDs.

Giacinto Facchetti 1942-2006

04 September 2006 - 04:56 PM

Giacinto Facchetti

Italy has lost today a great man and a legendary player. 94 matches with national team, and an whole career in Inter, of which he was President since January 2004.

May he rest in peace, another Inter symbol of honesty.
