John Williams will conduct the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra in a special tribute to Erich Kunzel on August 7 at Riverbend Music Center.

"I'm particularly grateful to Erich for introducing my music to thousands of listeners over the years, and he always did this with bristling energy, fun and superb musicianship," said Williams, who will be appearing with the Pops for the first time.

      FORT WORTH – Go behind the scenes and experience a live orchestral rehearsal with legendary composer and conductor John Williams on Tuesday, April 20. He will lead the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in rehearsal from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Bass Performance Hall in preparation for a Gala concert later that evening. The Gala concert sold out months ago, so this is the only chance to hear and see Williams conduct in North Texas.

According to a recent article from the Pittsburgh Post-gazette, John Williams's yet unreleased Concerto for Horn and Orchestra has been recorded for future release on the Naxos label. This world premiere recording of Williams' 2003 concert work was performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin, with Karl Pituch on horn.

The piece, written by John Williams, topped a poll for radio station Classic FM, with youngsters choosing it ahead of other movie scores such as Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean and E.T.
