Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows may have a John Williams score if his schedule permits...

UPDATE: Hooper wants Williams to come back.

Richard Alexander reports:

I just returned from the David Heyman Q&A at the Promenade and I asked him about Composer John Williams's interest in returning to the film series. Here's the audio I recorded:

Transcript:
Harry Potter producer David Heyman talks about bringing back Harry Potter Composer John Williams for the final film of the Harry Potter Franchise.
RA (Richard Alexander)
DH (David Heyman) RA: Hi, First I want to say thank you for your amazing work.
DH: Thank You.
RA: In a recent interview John Williams said that he would love to come back and bring his musical storytelling "full circle". Will he come back for Deathly Hallows?
DH: The question is will John Williams come back? I'm a huge fan of John Williams he did three of the scores and I think he is amazing. He came up with some of the themes that have carried on. We have talked to John Williams and a lot of it will depend on his schedule for [Harry Potter] seven part two. If we can make it work, and that's a big if, for his schedule and ours then yes.
RA: Great, thanks.

UPDATE: JWFan member 'Maestro', who just interviewed composer Nicholas Hooper for an article which will appear in the next issue of FSM Online, has the latest news:
I spoke with Nicholas Hooper yesterday (the interview got delayed), and I can assure all of you that he is a very humble and kind man.

He explained a little why he chose to take the series in a totally different musical direction. He testified of his admiration of John Williams. (I won't go into more detail, because I want everyone to subscribe to FSM Online!)

The one juicy tidbit, which I also mentioned in the interminable "Williams may score seventh Potter film" thread, is that Hooper is bowing out of the series altogether. He told me that the films have put too great a strain on his family life, and that he always thought that a certain composer "whose name I know well" should finish out the series, "since he started it."

In August 2007, Williams already expressed his desire to score the final film in the series.
