A report by Antony Belin from France:

I am French and I just want to inform you I have seen a beautiful show of movie soundtracks, in the Invalids (Paris). It was performed by the French Republican Guard Orchestra (one of the most famous in France) and by the French Army Chorus. This occurred with the “Fête de la musique”, June 21st 2007 (just like in New York this year).

Programming tracks were, in the order :

Raiders of the lost ark (End credits) by John WILLIAMS

Lawrence of Arabia (Overture and Main titles) by Maurice JARRE
Is Paris burning ? (Waltz) by Maurice JARRE performed with the Chorus
The Longest day (End title) by Maurice JARRE & Paul ANKA for lyrics, performed with Chorus

Theme from Schindler’s list by John WILLIAMS performed by Marina CHICH (violin)

Beaumarchais the scoundrel (Main title) by Jean-Claude PETIT
Mayrig (Main title) by Jean-Claude PETIT
Cyrano DE BERGERAC (End title) by Jean-Claude PETIT

La Science des rêves (Dream’s science) by Jean-Michel BERNARD performed with Ophélie GAILLARD (cello)
