John Williams’ The Book Thief has received a nomination by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) for Best Original Film Music, the only category in which the movie was nominated. The other nominees are 12 Years a Slave by Hans Zimmer, Captain Phillips by Henry Jackman, Gravity by Steven Price, and Saving Mr. Banks by Thomas Newman.
This is Mr. Williams’ 14th BAFTA nomination (he won the award seven times in the past). Winners will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Royal Opera House on February 16. – Full list of BAFTA nominees.
