The Accidental Tourist Really good film. It was nice to watch a film about flesh-and-blood, three-dimensional people, dealing with life situations without caricature. Kathleen Turner isn't painted as a villain, when she could so easily be. The situation simply is what it is and these people have to sort through it. The tone is balanced very nicely, serious where it needs to be but with a sympathetic touch and good-natured dose of humor. The performances ranged from enjoyable to excellent--the scene when Macon goes to Muriel's house to leave the note was just beautifully done on the part of Kasdan, Hurt, and Davis. Loved Williams's score, and John Bailey's cinematography was absolutely lovely. Recommended!

seriously, though, how many of those black turtlenecks does he have? It is always the same one- a "lucky shirt"? Is it laundered or smell of the sweat of years- indeed decades- of toiled cinematic nectar- like the soft suckle on the bosom of symphonic verisimilitude. Does his wife go to wash it and he yells, "Nooooo! These woven threads mean more to me than your eternal soul, woman!" It belongs in the Smithsonian alongside the original studio model of the Starship Enterprise and Lincoln's Top Hat...or in my house- that would be sweeeeeeeeeeeet. Hans Zimmer doesn't have a lucky black turtleneck, I guaran-damn-tee you. Mr. K

Wish First Knight would have been a part of the sale. I'll probably pick up Space Above And Beyond just because it's 3 discs of Shirley Walker.
