  1. I generally love his action/adventure output from the 90's for less than stellar movies, but I agree with you, The Ghost and The Darkness might be my favorite of the bunch. Is there much music missing from the OST? A good question. I have seen the film but it was ages ago and before I got the OST. One of my favourites as well. Missouri Breaks About 25 minutes are missing from GatD, but Goldsmith reportedly rescored a lot since they recut the film (note the big crescendo that closes the movie but isn't on the album). So he certainly recorded 1,5 hours. Apparently Intrada is doing it, it may come out late summer (or so the rumor mill says).

  6. How high are people's expectations anyway regarding a new Star Wars film? In 1999 expectations were super high, A SW film made in the 90s was going to be the most epic film ever! But these days? I never forgot the disappointment that as ROTJ, so I wasn't so sure it was going to be good. Lucas was no longer a god in my eyes. That being said, I've always been interested (something I've expressed several times at the forum) to see a Star Wars movie seen through the perspective of a different director and without the involvement of Lucas. What would Nolan, Lynch, Fincher, Spielberg or Scott do with this universe? Episode VII is a baby step closer to the answer. Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back had a lot of teenager cool, but things got a lot more childish with Return Of The Jedi. 'Childishness' was the main reason why I wanted to see a Star Wars movie from a different perspective. Alex

  7. Brian De Palma day! Just look through the list of composers he's worked with over the years and the scores they created - it's mind-boggling. Listened to large chunks of: The Black Dahlia The Fury Carrie The Untouchables Casualties of War Mission: Impossible Obsession Passion Karol
