  1. Do admin and everyone else agree that a dedicated thread for all musical tributes to the maestro would be a handy resource? I personally enjoy seeing and hearing what the many talented fans come up with, especially when they're as beautiful as this: And on the subject of the Weissenborn, can anyone recommend any scores or albums where it's featured prominently? Preferably with lots of fiddle accompaniment. It's a sound I really love actually, the sleepy western aesthetic.

I'm afraid to go see Gravity when it's released because I might be forced to masturbate at the cinema.

  3. I'm listening to Black Gold again. This is indeed a very fine James Horner score. It has this nice but subtle Lawrence of Arabia vibe - not too melodramatic, but still old-fashioned enough. What separates it from other works of its composer is significantly more intimate and small scale of most of it - a refreshing deviation. Album is just about of perfect length. Might be in fact one of his finest in this type of a genre (at least on album). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPG-e4vMugM Karol
