  3. I'm the forum's residence science expert. Dinosaurs didn't exist and the earth is only 300 years old. Thanks for asking! Thanks! I've always thought that paleontologists were con men working for the illuminati. Hey! Not all of us!

  6. Given that it consists entirely of major chords, I think even its most militaristic statements carry positive connotations. Its (non antagonistic) use as counterpoint to Leia's theme in the end credits confirms the extramusical association.

  7. I think it's fine as long as they don't try making her Bond's sidekick, which is what the rumors have mainly been about. I'm fine with her being able to kick ass and such, because wouldn't you want the head of MI6 to be aided by a secretary that can also function as an agent? I would have loved to see Lois Maxwell do something fun on occasion besides flirt with Bond, if done right. One of the highlights of DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER is seeing Moneypenny on the field. It's such a nice twist for the Bond formula, I'm surprised EON didn't try doing that again in the films afterward.

    Return of the Jedi

I love the quote of Jabba's theme (AKA Jabba More Sinister Insert) with the flanging Moog bass. @1:39

  11. This score was disappointing in context after the hype built around it. The thematic idea provides that sense of "wonder" on a very functional level, but aside from that offers very little. As Blume said, for the great matters this show deals with, the music (despite its orchestral setting) comes off as stock music. Even the main titles sequence, which is designed spectacularly, is supported by music that sounds like patchwork underscore. Underwhelming stuff. Although I'd rather they didn't go with that sound, Fenton would have been more suitable for this. I'd love to see Williams tackle this. Or on a more interesting note, see what someone like Corigliano might come up for this.
