  1. We should forward his Facebook profile to Matessino. "Hey Mike, we found on the internet a very interesting person for you to talk! Why don't you text him or something?"

  2. I've always found tracks 1-3 to be movement 1, 4-6 movement 2, 7-9 movement 3 and then the repeat of the theme is a fine epilogue. Beautiful presentation.

  3. https://www.billboard.com/music/awards/oscar-rule-changes-best-original-score-1235662707/ Two main new rules. Rule 1: I am calling this the SOUL rule change. If 3 composers win Best Score together - one 1 Oscar statue was awarded. So when Jon Batiste, Reznor and Ross won Oscar for Score, they were only given a single statue among the 3 of them. With this rule change, all 3 would get one. Rule 2: The shortlist used to be 15 scores. Now 20 scores will be shortlisted before the final nomination announcement.

  4. I think they should go digital. A 20-disc box set will be expensive and niche and cause all sorts of complications with fitting tracks on and the inevitable scratched CD in the process.

  5. I think Matessino does have a foot inside Disney. I'm sure he has or would have pitched about STAR WARS/INDIANA JONES Expansions but it has to be about the right timing. Disney is a big corporate and its formidable giant on its own. There are many hurdles that need to be crossed. So we just have to wait and see.

  6. Yesssssss all of that. Like Empire, the film has great cinematic contrasts. The clean polished nightclub, the jungle, the supersaturated reds and shadows, and the blinding daylight of the finale, making their escape from darkness literal and joyous.

  7. JW's recording is much better. Herrmann's is way too slow.
