  1. Ah I see. Perhaps what also plays a part is that RP1 might require a lot of musical quotations from 80's lore, such as BTTF, and Spielberg has said he will avoid references to his own work... Maybe this kind of scoring assignment just doesn't interest Williams that much...
  2. Episode IX was always set for a 2019 release....
  3. Lincoln and TFA had ‘Music By’... It’s no longer a given...
  4. I had this. It was quite unusual, but -for example- LINCOLN did it. The promotion of Lincoln was heavily focussed on Daniel Day Lewis' perfomance and hence his name was promptly feautured on posters and such, even the soundtrack cover. I see with The Post a similar trend: HANKS and STREEP are everywhere, and it's a Spielberg-film, just like Lincoln. It could very well be incorporated in the final CD artwork.
  5. Yeah could be..! Was thinking about it as well.
  6. Just an idea of what the CD cover might look like.
  7. Anyone know on what date the tracklisting of TFA was revealed in 2015..?
  8. This is -hands down- THE post of the year..!! 😂😂😂
  9. Thor, why do you consider The Screaming Woman ‘not eligible’..?
  10. Jaws was the defining score which -after following it up with a string of equally classic scores- turned John Williams into a household name and arguably the most popular film composer of all time.

  12. It was awesome. Morricone conducted some of my favorite pieces, music that has been a part of my life for more than 20 years. Morricone is a true artist and tonight he simply let the music do all the talking. For me the highlights were Deborah's Theme from Once Upon A Time In America, the suite from Casualties Of War, The Silver Of The Mine from Nostromo, the main title theme from The Hateful Eight, the suite from The Mission and the music from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. And a highlight of a different kind: meeting Stefan..! I've known Stefan for more than 15 years on the board and this was the first time I got to meet a JWFanner in person. And guess what? Stefan is one of the kindest persons alive and it made the concert extra special..! Thanks man for a great evening..!
  13. When you order through La La Land directly, do you have to create an account? I opened the website, but I don't see any login section or something like that...
  14. Does anyone know what time in The Netherlands (CET) this can be ordered? I usually order through SAE: good idea?
  15. Always liked Ed Starink's arrangement of the theme which is -sadly- nowhere to be found on YouTube....
  16. What did you think of just the music, away from the images, concept and words?
  17. Ah ok, my mistake. But Williams did write some source cues for the score right? Savoy, Ursula's Party, etc. The selection on the Keith Lockhart album contains the original music Williams wrote or is it an arrangement of Bricusse's score?
  18. I have a question about the Goodbye, Mr. Chips Overture on this selection. Is it music composed by Williams for the film or is it adapted from Herbert Ross' score?
