  1. Is it really that much diffrenr from this? That's definately NOT John Williams!
  2. Reminds me of you and some other members sharing masturbation techniques on this board, or did I read that in a YouTube comment section as well...?
  3. Ok, maybe I read something in the YouTube comment section, but I'm not crazy..!
  4. I remember there were some TLC recordings floating around a few years ago of which the sound quality was so bad that respected members here believed it were synth recreations of the actual score. It turned out they weren't synth at all and were really the original symphonic performances. Bad sound can easily be mistaken for an artificial recreation as those TLC tracks proved.
  5. and what's that? He is John Williams! The other person in his profile picture is a random fan who happened to pass by while the picture was being taken. Let's just say that one of my FB friends is someone who would definately know and he hinted that Thursday evening is the moment the world will be exposed to hearing a first snippet from the score. That's really I can say about it. Just don't be too surprised if the music ends up in the finished film...
  6. I've good reason to believe that this particular TV spot is the first to feature music from the actual score...
  7. It kind of reaffirms the statements I've made in another thread that the Harry Potter music -especially Hedwig's Theme- is just as iconic as Jaws, Star Wars or Superman to a younger generation...
  8. For a lot of people Schindler's List is very famous. It's amazing how often it's been performed on television (Nights Of The Proms, etc.) and believe me: it's more known than we think. It appears on so many film music -and even classical- collection CD's. It has had -and still has- an exposure that greatly outdoes most film themes.
  9. You are ALL mistaken. The iconic themes of John Williams -or perhaps better 'most famous' themes- are: Jaws Theme Main Title from Star Wars Rebel Fanfare from Star Wars The Force Theme from Star Wars Close Encounters Theme (5 note motif) Superman Theme The Imperial March from The Empire Strikes Back The Raiders' March from Raiders Of The Lost Ark The Flying Theme from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Jurassic Park Theme Schindler's List Theme Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone Somewhere In My Memory from Home Alone is close to it, but doesn't reach the heights of the above.
  10. If anyone is interested in reading a lenghty and I predict fairly accurate plot synopsis -at least based on the leaked information so far- of The Force Awakens I think this is a great read: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByQR6taehVh7MUdKLWdLRUx5eG8/view?pli=1 But --- MEGA SPOILER ALERT of course..! It does answer the question about who's Force sensitive and who's not.
  11. And besides: the NBC News theme may be known to Americans, but outside of the US the music doesn't ring any bells. I would definately not place it alongside Star Wars, Jaws or The Raiders' March for that reason alone.
