  1. Both trilogies are flawed, but I would go with the Prequel Trilogy on this one. Simply because Peter Jackson made many of the same mistakes Lucas made, especially regarding an overkill of CGI animation. At least Lucas was truly pioneering at the time and sadly made some bad decisions, although I've always believed his heart was in the right place. Jackson could have learned from the Prequels -they were still heavily criticised at the time- and he didn't. The barrel sequence in DoS for example is so over the top and the idea to turn most of the baddies into lifeless digital creations alienates the Hobbit films greatly from the beloved LOTR Trilogy, which was graced by such a fine balance between practical and CGI effects. Ironically, the only one who learned from all this seems to have been J.J. Abrams when he made The Force Awakens, a film I enjoy less that the Prequels or The Hobbit films, but was extremely successful and was praised for recapturing the feel of the original Star Wars films. But despite the shortcomings of all films mentioned above, I mostly enjoy them for what they are and own them all on Blu-Ray.
  2. Why judge so easily? Do you know the personal circumstances involved? I ordered a second copy for my brother, who helped me fight cancer this year.
  3. Whoa, talk about bad luck! I hope DME will help you out here!
  4. I actually ordered the CD again on August 24 (I have the one I ordered on August 21 since early September already), and I see that my order from August 24 is apparently still in the US... Last update: November 6. It says: 'Ready for export'.
  5. Question: I was only recently made aware that this composition has been released on vinyl. https://www.disneymusicemporium.com/product/XVLP99/star-wars-galaxys-edge-symphonic-suite?cp=null Does anyone know if it has also been released on CD? Or is this a vinyl exclusive? Thanks.
  6. There was a window of just a few hours when orders could be placed again on August 21 before the infamous 'Product currently not available' message plagued the site once more. The orders placed on August 21 were shipped relatively quickly, ironically on August 24. My theory is that Disney located remaining copies of the original batch, so nothing had to be re-produced. On August 24 there was a second window when the CD could be purchased, this time lasting longer than just a few hours. However, these orders -again my theory- involved a still to be done new pressing of the CD, likely in October. That's why those who ordered on August 24 had to wait much longer than those who ordered just 3 days prior.
  7. I ordered August 21 and the CD was delivered September 8 (The Netherlands).
  8. Recently, I've been very impressed by John Williams' arrangement of The Long Goodbye Theme as heard on the DG Violin Concerto No. 2 release (2022). I think it may be one of Williams' very best arrangements and it puts the theme in a completely new perspective. Just sharing in case anyone hasn't heard it.
  9. Although I put Family Plot after Jaws, but still wrong, as Black Sunday should succeed it, you are right about the other titles…. Oops…..!
  10. I am thinking to preorder through Music Box Records: https://www.musicbox-records.com/en/cd-soundtracks/13723-the-legend-of-john-williams.html Would be my first time. Has anyone had any positive experiences with the site?
  11. I'm really hoping for a definitive release of Born On The Fourth Of July. It's one of Williams' most powerful and beautiful scores and it greatly deserves an expansion of some sort.
  12. I was wondering about this too….. Didn’t get a notification yet, says order is ‘in progress’…
  13. Mine arrived last Friday, in perfect condition. 😇 I ordered it on August 21.
  14. Sadly there is the standard shipping, which has no tracking and no refund if the package gets lost. SA offers an Express and tracked shipping which would have been a massive 48 USD to The Netherlands…
  15. I completely agree Jay and normally I always order directly from the labels. This is a rare exception.
  16. But Screen Archives is still a pretty good place to order right? Saw my last order there was over 8 years (!) ago…..
  17. Damn, I see The Lost World is already out of stock at La La Land Records.... Was about to order... Anyone know if there is going to be a new batch at some point? Or can I perhaps order at Screen Archives? Thanks... EDIT: Ordered it at Screen Archives.
  18. 1. Star Wars 2. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial 3. Schindler’s List 4. Raiders Of The Lost Ark 5. Superman The Movie 6. The Empire Strikes Back 7. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind 8. Jaws 9. Jurassic Park 10. Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone
  19. Another one.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/204428617953 A lot less, but still......
