  1. And what would be the greatest caption for this photo?
  2. Request: does anyone have this picture in better quality? Would be great as this is obviously one of the coolest photos ever taken of the maestro.
  3. Only time will tell... I'm rooting more for The First Order March (Kylo Ren's Theme). I would have imagined you rooting for Finn above anything else! Oh yeah I am, but musically speaking I hope Williams will be able to write something that is as memorable as The Imperial March since he's already been responsible for such an abundance of classic hero-themes. But of course you're right: Finn all the way man..!

  5. Hedwig's Theme definitely made it, and is the last "iconic" Williams theme. Hedwig's Theme is about as famous and iconic as a modern, purely orchestral composition can get. The public awereness of this piece is undeniable and it can rightfully be regarded as one of Williams' most famous compositions.
  6. I'd say Hedwig's Theme made it as well. There is a whole generation out there to whom the Harry Potter theme is just as iconic as The Raiders' March or the Superman Theme.
  7. He was also the first one who thought the world would go absolutely nuts for Jar Jar Binks... Well, I know what he meant by it. He thinks JW is the best thing about Star Wars. With Jar Jar, he only thought he would please the kids. Ok, since when has it become cool again to value the opinion of George 'chilhood rapist' Lucas???Since Disney bought Star Wars!Suddenly Lucas's standing increased True, especially after they decided put aside Lucas' treatments for the sequels and do their own thing. Suddenly Lucas was heralded like some sort of fallen hero -a genius who's ideas where now never going to see the light of day- by the same people who've been slandering him for years.

  10. My appreciation for the prequels is exactly like you describe your appreciation for the duds within the Bond franchise. The 'all sweeping love' you talk about is a love for the franchise as a whole, like your love for Bond or Star Trek. All franchises can't be great all the time. Trek has produced some garbage as well with episodes like Spock's Brain, Shades Of Grey or Sub Rosa clearly leading the way. I won't even get started with Bond, but I would say half of those films are completely unwatchable by now.
  11. 'Love' is really stretching it. I do see the virtues of the films, much like I'm sure you see virtues even within the mediocre installments of the Bond franchise.
  12. When i met JW I could barely even speak, much less write anything. Gratefully I can say: I know the feeling.
  13. Then please name those scores....... All I know are the movies I've seen, and the music that I have reacted to..... You probably didn't see many movies during that time span then, nor listen to a lot of scores. I mean; Jurassic Park, Morricone's The Mission, Braveheart, Dances With Wolves, Willow, Basic Instinct, The Lion King, ... I'm not even going to continue.
  14. I've seen longtime film music fans misspell the name of Ennio Morricone or Franz Waxman on several occassions. Give Boyega a break. His enthusiasm for Williams and the recording session is what shines through here, despite the error.
  15. Nice..! But the artwork won't be in line with the PT soundtracks I think since that trilogy is being treated as radioactive since the production of TFA, especially after JJ came on board.......
  16. The music from the trailer is getting a lot of praise and to be honest: it's incredibly effective..! Williams' melodies really shine here, whoever arranged it.
  17. Insiders are hinting at a trailer release October 19... If true, I doubt they would record the music at such a late stage...
  18. Isn't it a bit odd that we're just a few days ahead of the actual OST release and that no samples or anything like that have been released?
