  1. There is another english horn melody in track 4 but it's not the same. Maybe you mistook that one for the same melody. Yeah, that must be it. Just started to listen to the full score and there is such of wealth of thematic and melodic material to discover. I think this release is simply fantastic.
  2. I'm pretty sure I heard it in one of the tracks following track 3. I will get back on this.
  3. The Morricone-like melody in the third track -David's Arrival- is that a seperate theme? It starts around 1:15. Does it appear in more tracks? I heard it at least once in the fourth of fifth track I think. It's simply a beautiful, free-flowing melody.
  4. Your "trust"? How have they broken your "trust"? Give me a break! Uhm, 'trust' that I don't have to wait like 4 weeks to finally get the CD..? Wasn't that clear..?
  5. Ok, that's a new one... Interesting.
  6. What the writer is saying that JW didn't score any films not directed by Spielberg (which is of course false, but is not a "myth"). It doesn't say that JW scored all the Spielberg films. That's how I read it too.
  7. I also read that as false, but more in the sense of 'he scored Rosewood and Seven Years In Tibet as well around the time of TLW, so surely not 'nothing but Spielberg films'.'
  8. Myth #5: John Williams was the composer James Cameron originally wanted to score Titanic. True or false...?
  9. Yeah, this is probably the last time I've put my trust in SAE.....................
  10. Great. So everyone's received their copy. Except me. Not even a shipping notice. This is just great.
  11. Speaking of E.T. ... Myth #3: Angela Morley wrote the B-theme/melody of the Flying Theme from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Is there any evidence to this claim or is it just pure bogus..?
  12. A thread to debunk -or confirm- long running myths surrounding John Williams and his work. Myth #1: John Williams changed the tempo of the Jurassic Park Theme considerably for concert performances as part of an out of court settlement with a composer who claimed the theme was too similar to a lullaby he wrote prior to Jurassic Park. Any evidence to this story? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Myths discussed in this thread: Myth #1: John Williams changed the tempo of the Jurassic Park Theme considerably for concert performances as part of an out of court settlement with a composer who claimed the theme was too similar to a lullaby he wrote prior to Jurassic Park. VERDICT: UNRESOLVED. Myth #2: Spielberg turned of the projector for the final part of Adventure On Earth when they were recording ET and Williams did a full take of it, which ended up unedited in the film. VERDICT: UNRESOLVED. Myth #3: Angela Morley wrote the B-theme/melody of the Flying Theme from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. VERDICT: FALSE. Myth #4: John Williams wrote several songs for Steven Spielberg's aborted Peter Pan musical in the mid-'80s. VERDICT: FALSE. Myth #5: John Williams was the composer James Cameron originally wanted to score Titanic. VERDICT: TRUE. Myth #6: John Williams contributed new music to Superman Returns. VERDICT: UNRESOLVED.
  13. This is awful news.... Very saddened... Listening to Legends Of The Fall this evening....
  14. Still haven't received a shipping notice yet from SAE... Should I get worried...?
  15. Am I the only one who hasn't received a shipping notice yet..? Ordered at SAE on the day of release....
  16. I usually order through Screen Archives. Will it be available there too........?
  17. I'm a lazy dog, but anyone know what time here in Holland the CD will be available for ordering...?
  18. Error in one of the tracks. Replacements copies were sent to everyone who ordered and received the disc. What a loss that must have been.
  19. Three questions: 1. When is this available for pre-order? June 16? 2. Why does the main page date July 16? 3. How do we know the 'techno-part' in The Moon Rising was written by Joseph and not by John? Was this officially confirmed or do we just assume John could not have written something that modernistic?
