  1. The Fabelmans score is nominated for the International Press Academy Satellite Awards: https://www.pressacademy.com/2022-nominees/
  2. According to Variety, Hildur Guðnadóttir's score for Women Talking has taken the position of frontrunner for the 2023 Academy Awards. https://variety.com/feature/2023-oscars-best-original-score-predictions-1235381044/ The Fabelmans has held the position until December 2 and is now in second place. Over at GoldDerby, most experts and editors still consider The Fabelmans to be the most likely winner. https://www.goldderby.com/awardshows/expert-predictions/oscars-nominations-2023-predictions/score/sort/recent/ Also; Awards Watch lists The Fabelmans as the favorite. https://awardswatch.com/2023-oscar-predictions-original-score-november/ We'll see how things turn out in March. P.S. I know these articles relate to nomination predictions at this point, but the rule of thumb is that the most likely winner is placed on top.
  3. Looks a wonderful release and kudos to the art department who worked on this!
  4. I was notified by Amazon as followed: New estimated delivery date: We will email you as soon as we have a delivery date.
  5. The thing with Babylon is that is has been described as followed: 'Babylon is essentially a three-hour-plus bender of a movie that pummels the audience with Boschian-level set pieces of Jazz Era decadence — mountains of cocaine, graphic overdoses, scatological humor, projectile vomiting, horror-movie-style sex dungeons, murder, suicide, and rattlesnake wrestling.' Early reactions have been mixed. It could be that the Academy is trying to claim back some of the prestige it once had after the infamous 'Oscar slap' this year and multiple wins for The Fabelmans could fit that agenda. Just speculating here about the politics involved, as discussed earlier in this thread.
  6. I think the Sony Classical page has bits of new information and quotations from Williams and Spielberg: https://www.sonyclassical.com/releases/releases-details/the-fabelmans-original-motion-picture-soundtrack
  7. As absolute music, I think it’s a fantastic piece and it made the opening title sequence of the film instantly memorable.
  8. Though I agree with you 100% my friend, we must accept free thinking folks as well!
  9. No, I think this was shot by CNN specifically for this short item. I don't think the full footage will ever see the light of day.
  10. I actually said there are political forces at work and that they could dictate that it serves the Academy/industry well to award Williams next year. To rule out a win based on the actual score, is a bit stupendous in my mind.
  11. Reading the comments in this thread with everyone so sure of themselves… Geez… The Fabelmans is a critically acclaimed film and is regarded -and least until this day- as a MAJOR frontrunner for the Best Picture award. The score is literally on everyone’s prediction-list regarding nominations. West Side Story received critical acclaim. I don’t know how things will go down for The Fablemans March 12 2023. That’s roughly 4 months (!) from now. I envy those holding a crystal ball in their hands at this point. I don’t know how The Fablemans will continue to fare with critics these coming weeks with films like Babylon coming out. I don’t know if Williams will choose to promote the score as heavily as he did Memoirs Of A Geisha back in 2005/2006. If he performs the main theme and Reverie on piano for some televised show at a certain point -and the ‘This is the final Spielberg/Williams collaboration score’-card is played well-, it could seriously change the way people feel about his work for the film. All I know is: A Passage To India won back in the 80’s, so did Brokeback Mountain and The Hateful Eight, scores comparable in length to The Fabelmans. It’s all about the momentum and we don’t know whether that will grow or cool off. There are ‘political’ motivations at play as well and perhaps the Academy desperately *want* to award a 91 year old nominee. We simply don’t know. Call it naive, wishful thinking -I don’t care really-, but anyone pretending to be some kind of ‘industry insider’ here is just making a joke of themselves.
  12. In about 3 months, Williams will turn 91 years old. To see him conduct these pieces with such energy and passion, is such a fairytale ending to one's career. I am so thankful to witness this.
  13. Perhaps posted before, but this close up video of the projection screen at the Bowl is so much nicer to look at.
  14. Sorry if this has been posted already, but this just melts my heart: https://www.classicfm.com/composers/williams/john-steven-spielberg-the-fabelmans-score/
  15. This reviewer doesn’t quite finish what he wanted to say about the score it seems (1:33), but he seems positive about it:
