Sandor got a reaction from carlborg in John Williams' new HAN SOLO AND THE PRINCESS arrangement (Debuted 2018)
I see this arrangement as such a surprising gift. It’s not like anyone was looking forward to it, simply because nobody knew it was coming. Williams is well over 80 years old. He doesn’t have to write these things, but he keeps doing it. Disappointing is really not the appropriate word to use I feel.

    Probably.

I think the music actually sounds very much alike the march we heard last yearï»żï»żÂ during the Verizon (?) commercial that turned out to be a mystery... It certainly wasn’t part of the TLJ score. Same composer?

Sandor got a reaction from Will in Force Awakens ABC TV Spot - CONFIRMED premiere of Williams' score!
As you can read on one of the first pages, I confirmed it was Williams’ music long before it became fact.

I checked with the same source, but he can/will not confirm it’s Williams this time.

I was born in the year of Jaws, discovered Star Wars at the age of 5, just after the release of ESB I guess. Saw ROTJ when it came out on the big screen when I was 8 years old. Star Wars -and the music of John Williams- has always been part of my life and it will be until the day I die.

They stumbled with their second album, but I dig everything else.

If you like Marcus Mumford you should also check out his work as part of The New Basement Tapes.

Currently into Mumford & Sons. Their latest album Delta is great imo. The last 2 minutes of The Wild are really cinematic and epic, so anyone willing to listen to the whole 5 minute+ song won't be disappointed I think.

Sandor got a reaction from SteveMc in The Face of Pan (revised)
At first I found it very similar to Agnes Of God, but after having listened to both pieces occasionally for a couple of years now, I find that The Face Of Pan clearly has its own, unique melodic core and its own story to tell. Influenced? Of course. Copy? No.

Sandor got a reaction from SteveMc in Do you consider the score to War Horse a masterpiece?
It’s certainly a masterpiece, even if it doesn’t reach the heights of what many consider ‘the true John Williams’ classics’.

I find War Horse so well infused with melody and themes, all of which get a moment to shine in The Homecoming, one of Williams’ finest suites.

It’s a top 15 score for me and my favorite since the first Harry Potter.

For me; Seven Years In Tibet. I find the opening suite to be one of John Williams' most powerful works. It's the theme I return to more than any other from his 1997 output.

It's mainly that. AOTC is a great score, with an incredibly strong love theme and the single greatest cue from the entire PT: Confrontation with Count Dooku and Finale.
