And you think there aren’t like a billion people out there who have a hard time taking *you* seriously, a guy who -under the childishly ‘cool’ name ‘Demodex’- spends his weekend checking in on a fan messageboard multiple times, begging other members for a leak of a movie soundtrack?

To ‘normal’ people -something you so desperately want to be obviously- you are just as geeky as anyone else here and completely obsessed by ‘infantile shit’ like ‘Star Wars music’.

You’re just a minor step up or down on the ‘nerdy fanboy-ladder’.

    The same goes for mcguyver.

Somehow the two have become JWFan’s own ‘geek police’, pretending to be above and beyond the other fans here and living with the idea that it is your job to point out ‘unhealthy expressions of fandom’.

    Pathetic really.

And since you didn't notice, I'd like to copy the strong words of mrbellamy here in response to your 'holier than thou'-stampede on this board:

Cool. So maybe in the future, just stick to those posts and ignore the ones that bore/bother you instead of trying to bring down the enthusiasm of others?

So on the John Campea show on youtube today he was asked about the score.

"Was the musical score up to par?"

"I loved the music. Loved it. They new exactly when to use the recognizable Star Wars music and they knew exactly when to put John Williams's new stuff. Williams does it again. Williams totally does it again, I love the music in the movie"

@ 45.26 (apologies, I don't know how to clip things or make things start in certain places.) EDIT: Also at 51.48 he says somewhat the same thing.

In my experience the people who are obsessed with coming on boards like this and putting on a pretence of how much cooler and above it all they are than everyone else, and how much more of a "real life" they have, or how often they get laid, and what big losers everyone else is, are typically the most pathetic and insecure. There's a reason you don't see happy and successful men engaging in this kind of behaviour.

I don't know how much personal experience you have with social anxiety, depression, or harmful addictions/obsessions/compulsions, but I'm guessing that anyone here who may be genuinely using Last Jedi, John Williams, or whatever else to distract themselves from the lack of anything fulfilling going on in their lives probably doesn't need you to inform them that they'd be so much better off if they could only enjoy the pleasure of good work, a healthy mind and body, a place to live where they feel safe at home, a partner or a spouse they love and trust, maybe a child, or even a friend. They're thinking about it. The last thing they need is anybody to tell them that they're weird or stupid because they're fantasizing about a movie soundtrack. That's not helpful nor is it telling it like it is. It's a lie and a distortion.

I don't think it's our job to assume things about people's choices and life circumstances based on their message board posts, or speculate why someone might seem especially anxious or pissed off. It's not our business to guess whether someone watched a 30-second commercial over and over because they're a musician enjoying the hunt for a composer's musical signatures, or they have a compulsive personality or disorder, or they have a job that lets them goof around on the Internet, or because it's 3 am and they're single, broke, and lonely. It's definitely not our place to criticize or judge them for any of those reasons. I've been here since October 2010 and nobody here would have had any idea when I was doing fabulous or when I was struggling and why, and I know that because I don't know anything about you people. However I do have some sense that there are JWFans who are hurting and trying to escape, because they've shared it. I've been right there with them, though I've never dared post about it. There are probably others as well. If they really want our advice, they'll take it to Other Topics or a PM. Otherwise cut it out.

a few overly sentimental third-act scenes ... make extra use of John Williams’ immediate score

Another excellent score comes to us from John Williams

The story is adequately dramatic without ... John Williams's overpowering score, thank you very much.

Most of Spielberg’s crew have worked with him for a number of years, including the legendary John Williams. The composer, working under a time crunch, comes through with another top-notch score–this one feels restrained but comes through in a strong way when needed.

John Williams' score is quite good.

The combination of the adventurous Spielbergian lens and a dynamite John Williams score jazzes up the most mundane newspaper conventions, from a copy editor striking words with a red pen to trucks rolling out with first editions. If only the same heroic anthems accompanied the writing of a movie review.

John Williams’ horn-heavy score (creating either tension or heroic awe, as needed)

Spielberg can’t help but turn The Post into a “message movie.” He rises to our current moment on stilts, with a megaphone and a swelling John Williams score.

he notable score was provided by the legendary John Williams

I think it's a pretty normal thing for people to look for appreciation and acknowledgement. Doesn't matter whether you're 8 or 85.

Is it really so hard to accept that for Williams awards can be an important thing, even if it's not the driving force behind him writing music?

Of course there are bigger priorities to John Williams than Academy Awards. Sigh.

I'm so glad you guys know exactly what JW thinks, what he cares about, what drives him and what turns him off. So glad, because I just have to base my notion that Williams still puts some value on winning another Academy Award on all the promotion he did for Memoirs Of A Geisha or the look in his eyes when he entered the stage upon winning the award for Schindler's List.

Gosh, he really had me with those moments I guess. Since you guys obviously have more to go on, I now know that Williams doesn't care about 'stupid Oscars', especially not for commercial films like Star Wars, and that we are his real award.

    Right....
