  1. I've just skimmed through it so far, I'm reading Decision Points first. Looks superb, well worth the wait.
  2. I agree Henry, I skimmed through both articles and found a lot of nitpicky whinging about dates and other minutiae but little of real substance.
  3. Oh please, not the "when does a century or decade begin" debate again. <_< Happy early New Year to everyone. May the labels continue to bless us.
  4. I sense this year's Oscar chat will be a rather sarcastic affair.
  5. Hah, yes, I was expecting the explanation for them being in those outfits to be exactly what it was. That's classic Moff, straight from the Coupling days. So was a lot of the relationship advice. Me too. The whole bridge set had Trek written all over it. Visually from the new movie, but a lot of the SFX, including the touchscreen panels, reminded me more of the 24th century TV shows. I swear they even used the same "warp fly-by" sound.
  6. I wonder if I can convince one of the labels to accept a Hastings gift card... Fortunately there's nothing I want in this batch.
  7. I got the BttF trilogy on Blu for Christmas as well. John- who also loves the Blu CE3K packaging.
  8. I love the Doctor's maniac ramblings! One of the best aspects of the character. I have to echo Gambon being brilliant, he really was. You can tell he was really enjoying himself.
  9. I should have that from Amazon by the end of the week. Can't wait.
  10. I would have if I had too. And I will when it's officially released.
  11. The mirror's not in the OotP film? I don't remember.
  12. You might have missed the best scene in the whole movie Jason, Hermione erasing all memories of her at home. You should definitely try to see it again.
  13. Exactly. I certainly have to pick and choose which CD releases I want. I always grab my "can't miss" titles, but there's quite a few I'd like to check out but miss out on due to lack of funds.
  14. The best new music release to me hands down is Lost: The Last Episodes. I hadn't really realized how few movies and new scores I've heard this year, really can't make an informed vote on either. I've finally got Let Me In on the way, and the new Potter was easily the best in quite a while. I'd have to split the best re-release at least 5 different ways. Impossible to pick just one this year. Kind of a backwards year for me: hardly any new movies or scores, yet I played quite a few new video games and felt like I was actually making informed votes in Gamespot's year end awards. Usually it's the other way around.
  15. Just had a little post-Christmas CD shopping spree. With separate orders on Amazon and SAE I got: Let Me In Doctor Who: The Specials Patton (Intrada) Home Alone (LaLa)
  16. Matt Smith and Steven Moffat rule the world. I think what I enjoyed the most was that this was the first Moff script I can think of since Blink where he just threw every single bit of cracking dialogue he could think of into every corner of the script. Wordy fireworks, fantastic. Anyone else notice the obvious Star Trek references? There were many. As far as the music goes, there were a few neat arrangements of the 11th Doctor theme, and I thought the cue for when they're looking out of the TARDIS into the "sky sea" of fish was quite nice. EDIT- Oh, and the series 6 trailer? Awesome.
  17. There's a road construction project near my house that I don't think will ever get done.
  18. Yes! That was the one I was trying to think of. My brain wasn't working so good last night, obviously.
