  1. Mine is pretty simple: the name of the lead character of the greatest TV show ever, Farscape. So great it got cancelled. By the way, John IS my real name, it's just an amazing coincidence! It took me 10 minutes to post this, my computer at school is soooooooo slow.
  2. For the scenes with TMP music BEFORE the final battle, I think those were intended to be unscored (Anakin telling Padme about his dream, Dooku talking with Obi-Wan). For the final battle, I think it was just a matter of the scenes not being finished enough to be scored. Hopefully they'll take and extra day or two during the Ep. III scoring to correct this problem. Just my two cents... I remeber writing a post like this days after AOTC came out, and no one beleived me!
  3. -The Takis, Ware, and Elvisjones edits of the Battle of Naboo. You guys did a great job on those. The Takis version is my favorite, but the other ones are good too, certainly better than the mess on the UE. -The near complete scores for Last Crusade and Hook off the internet, I'm only missing about 3 minutes of each. Now if I could ever get my hands on a Temple of Doom CD...
  4. I'd like as close to a Mattesino release as possible, but at this point I wouldn't care if we got another "Ultimate Edition". I'd just edit and burn it myself like TPM.
  5. Just to add some persepective: For those of you who love the originals, they will always still be around. It's not like they are going to vanish from existence.
  6. I don't beleive a word of this. Someone has an overactive imagination.
  7. A couple of years ago my local independent baseball team played Superman when a home player hit a homer. I've heard on TV the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) play the Star Wars main theme after they win a game. They looped it over and over for something like 10 minutes the last time they won the Stanley Cup! I've also heard the Imperial March occasionally in baseball, I think Jay Buhner used it for his "walk-up" music back when he played.
  8. If JW is really just writing 40 minutes of actual score, we'd better get every note of it on the CD. November 12 gets better and better. It's already the best DVD day ever: Episode II, and the Lord of the Rings Director's Cut.
  9. One of the cool things about Crusade is that the first 15 minutes or so has its own little score within a score: the Cross theme, the motif for "White Hat", or whatever that guy's name is, and even that theme in the train chase that could be for Young Indy. And in the last half the main themes for the rest of the film, and of course the Raiders March, start to get woven in. Really cool. Even though I voted for Crusade for best Indy score, I agree with many of the criticisms of the film itself. It has a rushed together feel.
  10. This is a tough one, but I'm going with Last Crusade. The themes are the best of the trilogy. The Nazi theme in LC is much better than the one in Raiders. Of course Raiders is the one that introduced the March, and the Ark theme is great, but the rest is not quite as good as LC. I've never heard TOD outside of the film, and I love the slave children's theme. But the love theme in TOD is Williams' worst ever. John- awaiting the flaming from the TOD lovers, especially Ricard
  11. Seeing the movies for both HP and LOTR sent me running to read the books, and I think that will be true for many more people too.
  12. Considering how old the movie was I thought the picture quality was pretty good. And I enjoyed the Captian's Log and Visual Effects features on the second disc. But it doesn't come close to the TMP release, I fell out of my seat when I saw some of the new effects. The overall clean up turned TMP from a pretty good movie into an excellent one. BTW, is that Spock's theme or Yoda's theme in STII? Is there a difference? Typical Horner. LOL
  13. I knew almost nothing about Harry Potter (other than JW was scoring it!) until I sat down in a theater to see the very first showing out of curiosity, and to get ahead of the crowds. Five minutes in I was hooked like I have seldom been hooked before, and in the months since I have already read all the books twice. They have gotten better and better, and the foreshadowing at the end of GOF was wonderful. I can't wait for the next one. By the way, I never read Lord of the Rings before I saw the movie either. I had to see it twice before I really got everything, but I am now hooked on that also, and have just finished reading the trilogy for the second time. I'm a quick reader! LOL
  14. - The orchestra and chorus explosion in ROJ when Luke takes it to Vader. - The Imperial March/Love Theme finale in AOTC. - Flight to Neverland and the huge playing of Peter's theme when he flies for the first time. - The Face of Pan and You Are The Pan. Beautiful. - The soft, sad playing of the Han and Leia love theme when we see Han after being frozen. - The Map Room in Raiders. And many more....
  15. The sad truth is, AOTC will get absolutley nothing, just like TPM. The movie will get nothing because I think Hollywood hates Lucas (which is a big reason that I love Lucas). And JW will never win another Oscar, not because he doesn't deserve it, but because he's been nominated so many times that people just assume that he's won a lot, which he really hasn't. I guess he's a victim of his own success in that regard. John- who think AOTC is more than worthy of the name Star Wars. Enough said.
  16. Here's a little secret for those of you with the original Monkey Island game on CD, or the "Madness" CD that has 1, 2, and the CMI demo: put it into a regular old CD player, skip over track 1, and tracks 2-whatever (14 or 15 I think) are ALL the cues from Monkey Island 1! Right there on CD!
  17. There are good pirate film scores mentioned here, but some of the best pirate music I've ever heard is in the Monkey Island PC game series from Lucasarts. And they are the most fun and funny games I've ever played!
  18. You might be a redneck Jedi if... you go with your kids to Youngling training because you're both in it. you can find a fishing hole on Coruscant. you attatch a deer call to your lightsaber. you refuse to go to Tattoine cause those Banthas are just too easy to hit. you ever thought the Jedi/Sith feud could be solved with a case of beer and a day at the fishin hole. you have a gun rack on your Jedi Starfighter. Maybe I'll have more... John--a proud native Texan despite currently living in New Hampshire, and a huge Foxworthy fan .
  19. Hate to say it, but I think you're talking out of your backside . If you watch A New Hope, the ceiling of the Lars Homestead's dining room is the same as it is in AOTC, and Anakin's Bedroom in TPM. I think Lucas put it in Anakin's bedroom to preserve continuity, like this is how homes are decorated on Tatooine or something, and of course the Lars Homestead was recreated down to the smallest detail for AOTC. Its resemblance to Darth Maul's face is just a huge coincidence. You have a nice bit of speculation, though, but that's all it will end up being.
  20. My recommended ordering would be: 1-2-3-5-9-6-12-8-10-11-14-13-7-4-15-16-17 but it is worth it to take the time and put it together like described above, if you have the means. And to anyone who uses it, you're welcome. The Patriot has always been an underrated score, IMO. It has a little bit of everything (action, tradegy, love), even though it does rely a lot on the main theme at the end, but it works within the movie, which is what matters most. John--who has also used Takis' cue sheet to make a film edit of AOTC, and is now impaitenly waiting for unresleased cues from any source available, and knowing he'll wait a while . And will try to stop referring to himself in the third peron .
  21. As promised Ricard, here is my cue sheet for The Patriot. I only timed and recorded what is on the OST, I didn't do the unreleased music. 1. The Patriot- track 1 (Even though this is the same as the end credits, I still have it here because there is no real main titles music.) 2. The Family Farm- track 2 (:24-:46 replaced with trakced statement of War Horror Theme in film) 3. To Charlestown- track 3 4. Redcoats at the Farm and The Death Of Thomas- track 5- :46-end 5. Rescuing Gabriel- track 9- 1:14-end (at 2:13 the cue is split in two by a small unscored bit) 6. Ann Recruits the Parishoners- track 6 7. In Training/The First Ambushes- track 12- :00-1:20 8. Ann and Gabriel- track 8 9. Tavington's Trap- track 10- :00-2:00 10. Remebering the Wilderness- track 9- :00- 1:13 11. Burning of the Plantation- track 11 12. Susan Speaks- track 14 (This one is a real enigma. :00-1:08 is in the film, I think 1:09-1:58 is tracked out right after, and 2:03-end is intended for Susan actually speaking, but was replaced.) 13. The Parish Church Aflame- track 13 (The highlight of the score, IMO) 14. Gabriel Seeks Revenge- track 10- 2:01-end 15. Martin's Return- track 4- :00-:50 16. Preparing for Battle- track 7- 2:07-end 17. Tavington's Charge- track 5- :00-:46 18. Surprise Counterattack- track 7- :00-2:06 19. "Hold the line!"- track 4- :51-end 20. Martin vs. Tavington- track 15 21. Victory- track 4- :00-:50 (tracked from earlier) 22. Yorktown and The Return Home- track 16 23. End Credits- track 17 When I was done, I realized I can't account for track 12, 1:21-end. I'm pretty sure that none of it is in the film, but I could be wrong. Feedback appreciated!
  22. I didn't intend to sound mean, I do feel for the family even though I'm not surprised by the way this turned out. I just think there are much more important things for the news channels to cover as much as they're covering this.
  23. I have mainly official soundtracks of his best scores, not all of them. For some, like Hook and Last Crusade, I've been able to find the complete scores on the net. I'd like to get more, but money is scarce... LOL! "Are you the brain specialist?!" Nothing like Monty Python Gumbys!
  24. "The only missing person case to draw more media attention than Chandra Levy." John--watching the news and wishing they would talk about something important.
