I agree, MSM. For sure. Nothing that I've heard really stacks up to it. ET comes close simply because of its complexity... But I like Hook better... Easier to listen too... One can relax and enjoy more. Oh and I personally believe that Hook is soooo much more majestic than ET. Peter's theme is a theme of accomplishment; a theme that celebrates. The ET theme is a fun, happy theme... Hook as a score is much more majectic, as is the flying theme, than anything ET has. **But I'm not saying ET isnt good: just saying its not nearly as majestic as Hook**
-
Well what's not to like about it?!? Yeah maybe it doesn't need to be repeated a couple hundred times... but... PUKING?! We are talking about scores (well themes) here! Does Hook deserve to be regurgitated on?

OH HEY NOW!!! I'm hooked on hook and et!!! we can still be friends! Just one happy thought! and it will be good!

I know this is one of those polls that will disappear after a day or two. But that's ok. Which do you prefer; the majectic, awesome orchestration of the Hook Flying theme or the classic sound of the ET flying theme? I like Hook better. But yeah. Vote.
-
I'm curious... which would ppl reading this thread like better: the Hook Flying theme or ET? I like the Hook one much better, even thought it might not be as complex or ... something.
-
I know this is completely off subject, but at the beginnng of Quidditch, Third Year, the little harpsicord motif is Sirius's theme!!! I don't know if anyone has mentioned this... But it is. Just listen to it and listen to any other versions of Sirius's theme you can find. It's the same notes, just a little more of it!! Check it out!

Good point, Ray. He was probably a seer and saw that his lyrics would be put into a super duper song and theme a few hundred years later. Yep. AAAAllll from my head. Too smart for words. -

Nope. In the play, the witches are around the cauldron chanting the poem. John came up with the music I guess. So yeah... Where is it?! -
She has director approvment. Chris was fine. Then when he went, she immediately wanted Alfonso. Both were her choices. She doesn't have much to do with the crew, no. But she usually has suggestions for actors/actresses whom she would like to play the different parts.

Magical me, Double Trouble isn't up on the original songs or whatever cause the lyrics aren't original. They're derived from something else... Too bad JW hadn't written the lyrics. But yeah. -

I think PoA will get it! Shrek's iffy. Troy isn't that great, but still good... So I'll bet for PoA. -
Sounds cool.... cages and thumbscrews... TORTURE!! Old fashioned... wizard style.

They're raincoats.

The Yule Ball can easilly be cut down, which sucks... It'll probably just be a minute of Harry watching the ball go on and him not dance... and a few shots of teachers dancing and the pretty Hermione. Plus a few shots of humorous kids stepping on their partner's foot. A shot or so of the Weird Sisters... Then a bit of a brawl. Not much else. Then they will go outside and see Hagrid and Maxine exchanging giant hints at loooove. You will see a quick shot of the beetle then it will be over... That what I bet.
-
I don't think there is much else JW wanted to do. Obviously. He kind of just tossed together Mischief Manged! because he probably didn't think there was much else he could put together into a full song or track. Sure he could have added Rescuing Sirius somewhere but... ya. He might have been tired of the whole project too. I agree with someone's earlier post that Mischief Managed is reorchestrated... just slightly. It combines all of the best cues used in the movie (the fun ones). Sirius's theme and Peter's theme... and uhm... the womping willow's motif weren't important enough or lighthearted enough to make it into this song. HOWEVER... Winter's Spell should have been in this. I am babbling.
-
no. No. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yule Ball SHOULD be in there... And to it's fullest extent!!! I know it's there... but DRASTICALLY cuT?!?!?!!11??! If John Willliams does score this movie, this would have been n EXCELLENt time for music!!!! Harry MUST stress over the egg!!!!! It would mean different sorts of BUBBLES!!!! I wanted to see the bubbles!!! Snape has gotten poorr time on screen for all of the movies. Which SUCKS! Hagrid and Maxine's love could have had an awesome simplistic love motif!!! Dumbledore's humor is great now that Gambon is giving it to us!!!! Why cut it?!!??! AND THE QUIDDICH WORLD CUP IS REDUCED TOO!???!? Well! If JW scores it... WELL! I'm... fooweybunkered!!! I figured all of this stuff would be reduced anyway... but to hear it put in words is... bumming.

Yeah I bet the Triwizard Tournament WILL get a fanfare... If it's a full song thing, then I bet it will have separate smaller fanfares for all of the schools, including the already heard Hogwarts one. But yeah, I bet there will be a tournament fanfare.
-
I think a hint of Harry's theme and the family theme here and there wouldn't have hurt anything. But I bet that if JW does score HP4, we will for certain see some more of the earlier themes. Like I bet the Hogwarts Fanfare and Fawkes's theme will be used again. I bet Voldemort's themes will be used again (namely the one that sounds like the Emperial March). Dobby's theme (perhaps the part that sounds like Star of Bethlehem) will be used again... Maybe a bit of Moaning Murtle's motif... I bet we will hear some of Double Trouble, and some of the Past theme. But not much... Probably a few new themes; maybe a true Sirius one, a Durmstrang one, Beauxbatons, Rita Skeeter... Moody maybe? There will probably be a bit of Peter's theme played once or twice... I don't know. Just thoughts.

http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.a...p?ppn=mn0047439 This is the sheet music to Winter's Spell, although I don't know if it's the entire song (it has the words... but there are probably more). The rest of the Harry Potter sheet music is on the main page.

I think a fairly evil moment is in HP:SS when they show Voldemort killing Harry's mother and the Voldemort theme is playing. Pretty evil, but no, it's not up to snuff with the other stuff mentioned... But still evil.
-
You must not remove the snowball fight. I like the main motif in that. It's only heard like twice in the way I like it, but hey! I think it's cool!
-
It would be nice if they included, in the Choir Practice, a commentary with John Williams about how he come up with all of the songs and rythyms and all about his experience with the movie. I know that sounds really generic, but it's not like we can expect a lot more.
-
The choir thing on the dvd will probably be a sing-a-long, with the words at the bottom of the screen with a toad hopping from word to word. That's my guess.
