  1. Jason, idk how you do this exactly, but here's my yahoo Id: bob_intl_manofmystery660 so yeah... if you could send me the file or whatever you do, thatd be great.
  2. I think Harry's theme is the Friends theme. Like in track 18 on the SS cd. The Family theme is in the Mirror of Eirsed like when Harry's looking in the mirror. I think.
  3. Yeah see I was like 2 years old when it came out so I grew up with it. Heck I'm 14 and love it still... Imagination is much stronger when you are a kid therefore all of the imagination involved in the making of the movie (most of which was used in writing the basis for the movie: Peter Pan, the book) connected with me very well. That's why I liked the movie, it IS imaginative, whethere or not the imagination is on the same line as Peter Pan, the book/movie. Plus if you've had kids that liked it, I believe you might find things to like about it besides the breathtaking score. Here's my reply to Indy's bashing of my opinion, of which he is quite entitiled to bash to his wee heart's content: Hey, it's imaginative! Is human flying without a jet pack or marijuana something that happens everyday? No. Therefore, that is imagining. Is there a fairy that can throw a grown man across the room? No, unless a gay guy throws a man across a room... But the meaning of fairy in Hook is different ANYWAY, that's imaginative. Are there mermaids swimming around in your pond of Hook-disgust? NO! There are in Neverland though! Is there a huge compass at the bottom of any ocean you have ever seen while flying, with out a jetpack, plane, or in your mary-jane highness? I doubt it. Imaginative! Innovative... Well Let's skip that one... Innovaitve might not be the right word. And you say the special effects are cruddy? Well fooweybunkers on YOU! Superman flying looked like crap... a stiff angled guy with his arms stuck out with unseen strings isn't that great flying effects... Peter in Hook did twists and turns and did this dive in front of the sun that reminded me of ET flying past the moon. That's what I say about your flying remark. the flying sequences in Hook are way cooler than Superman's, IMO, just because this old guy just lost 300lbs and can now fly and does it well... But Superman was always the way he was in the movie and never really had a fairy-tale past: more like an alien one. Back to the effects: the layout of Neverland in day and night, the props of the pirate ship and lost boys' home, and Tink's changing from little to full size to little again... All were simple enough but cool. And they were rather, hem hem, special, in my opinion effects. So ha. And hey, I know that a computer is a tool to make effects, and that's what is awesome! None of the things are computer! If they had tried to make neverland or any part of it computer generated, it would have been nasty. But just a couple of years later, Jurassic Park came out and the computer-ized effects were great! The writing in the movie delves deeper into the world that is Peter Pan's than the Disney movie ever did or tried to. The writng is pure fantasy. It's better writing most of the time that some of Harry Potter's.... I mean, at least there's no one in Hook constantly saying, "Ouch Ron, that was my foot!" (Of which Hermione said in SS and PoA) ... But I truly believe this is a great movie... You just have to like the idea that Peter Pan is still alive and that there's a little boy in everyone... Or a little girl in girl's cases. And in the movie Peter finds it... He tell us more or less: You are going to grow up, but never really... grow up.
  4. We know your views on Hook... But I'm just curious why you dislike it so much. It's imaginative, innovative and has better special effects than some movies of the time... Most of which aren't computer which makes the ones that are there even rougher and grainier, yet way cooler. The writing faults at times... Like: To a ten year old I'm huge. WHO wrote THAT?! Anywho, I would like to know why you dislike it so much, then I can go back to the Harry Potter threads where my interests lie.
  5. OOHHHH I BEG to differ! Terminal was funnier, wittier, and less unneccessarily (or something like that) serious. Catch Me if You Can is something for smarter-ish people who like blander things and like good writing that includes many affairs... I liked it... But in no way is it a superior film to Terminal... At least Tom Hanks accent sounded believable where as Di Capreo's (or however you spell it) broke into regular American sometimes... Plus the score is better so naa-naa-na-boooooo-boo!
  6. I picked the Terminal also cause it had a wee bit more trumpet at the parts that I thought could use a trumpet - like the Krakosia (or whatever) national anthem! which had just a little bit of trumpet in it ... And I'm a trumpet player in the school band... So they hold a rather large place in hy heart.
  7. I think Terminal is much better, just because it had a wider range of feelings and moods. The music seemed more complex and there were, IMO, more themes. Plus it played a better part in the movie.
  8. Here's something that worked for me.. Just type the website address and put a space between each character. It doesn't register as a link then. Then we can copy and past it and take the spaces out.
  9. I was reading HP5 last night... And I began imagining Umbridge being played by the lady who plays Hyacinth on that British comedy, Keeping Up Appearances. It fits quite well... She can be serious and snotty acting... And girly and flamboyant... I think she would be good for the part.
  10. Well, yeah, sure it'd be cool to hear someone else's interpretation of the world of Harry Potter, but I don't think a new composer could capture what John has created. He knows what is right, we've pretty much discovered that. A new guy just couldn't do as well. Like in JP, JP2... They were great scores... But when a new guy came, the score was not half as exhilarating as the first two. Therefore, I say screw a new composer, I don't care about him... Unless it was someone fun, like Bruce Broughton... He did Homeward Bound... And that was cool. Or someone fun like James Newton Howard... But NO ONE ELSE. Just those two. No more. Still, I say keep the one that made things good and not someone who will fooweybunker it up. 8O
  11. I agree. Do you think that if the crescendo/ decrescendo, stair-stepping Voldemort theme was made into a march of sorts that it would become as recognizable as Darth Vader's march? Gosh, the possibilities of the You-Know-Who theme and Voldemort theme are endless... The Voldemort theme almost sounds a distant cousin of Darth Vaders march... It's along the same lines at least, even if it isn't as developed... Just wondering.
  12. I shall tell you where the "Get a Life" theme is... It is in someone's head who hasn't enough of a life to put down themselves, which seems the most sensible thing to do, in a certain someone's case. If looking on this board and finding things to put others down for then I must declare, that that isn't much of a life. But, then again, one cannot blame ignorance. 8O
  13. Ok... Yeah I love what I refer to as "Voldemort's step theme". It kinda goes up and down the scale and in volume in steps. Or something. I think if John could do a full song composed of Voldemort's two themes, it'd be totally awesome... But with the possibility of no Goblet of Fire, we may never hear either theme again... ANYWHO!
  14. What do the main Voldemort themes sound like???
  15. Lalala... I think that Williams will score Harry Potter 4. It's not like him to quit... Or be fired by an established franchise. The fact that the new funky-name movie isn't going to be directed by Sir Stevie makes me doubt that Williams will do this film after all... Well he might... There's a good chance of it. But I bet he will score HP4... So in my mind, I say it's all good. So far.
  16. OOHHH Yeeaaahh, Jim, Bruce Broughton.... That'd be a great replacement. He scored Homeward Bound I think... And that main theme in that is awesome!! James N. Howard did the most recent Peter Pan thing I think... It was almost new age but it was super perdy... Hey, how about Howard Shore?
  17. I think GoF, assuming Williams isn't doing it, would have been one of his best scores ever... There was sooo much possibility in that score... Soooo many new themes... So many cool thematic elements... But I am HIGHLY skeptical over him not doing it... This is another huge movie in a huge series whereas Jurassic Park 3 was just a weak continuation of 2 great movies before it and he probably just didn't think it was gonna be that great of a movie - plus Steven Spielberg didn't direct it. Heck, I think if Williams is pressed for time, I think William Ross should be brought back to help with conducting and adapting. Or not. Hmmm.....
  18. This sucks. This really sucks. Can't he say he can't do one of the other 2005 movies due to sceduling conflicts and not GoF?? Maybe it's a joke... Maybe not... Maybe we'll get someone good to do the score.. But not like Johnny. I'm pissed. very. 8O 8O censored
  19. I don't know how many people know this, BUT there is going to be a new Superman movie coming out in 2006. I higly doubt Williams is going to score this, but you never know. It'd be cool if he did though. The movie's probably going to suck... But ya... Just thought I should tell everyone.
  20. Not every JW piece is for everybody... But the "suite" from HP3 is, as all know, more or less a slap together of all of the main themes. Let's just say you couldn't listen to any other part of the HP3 CD. Wouldn't you even KINDA like the different songs/themes that are on that track?! I guess since you didn't like Mischief Managed (assuming that your suite you're talking about) then you must not like the rest of the HP3 score either which is a shame, because it's the one of the most thorough pieces the maestro has written (even though Terminal is pretty darn thorough), IMO, since HPSS (which would exclude CMIYC and HPCS). And the Terminal is just cool... Well most of the songs... As Fozzy the Bear once said, "Shaaame on you. Aaaall of you!" Suit yourself. 8O 8O 8O  8O
