Yes, I know, but these are confirmed ones... The others were probables. They're the same ppl, but I just wanted to make sure everyone knew who is for certain. Thank you for caring about something you could have ignored.

Clémence Poésy as Fleur Delacoeur, Stanislav Ianevski as Viktor Krum, Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory, Pedja Bjelac (''Eurotrip'') as Durmstrang professor Igor Karkakoff, Frances De La Tour as Madame Maxine, Roger Lloyd-Pack as Barty Crouch, David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr. and Jeff Rawle as Amos Diggory. EW also repeats what we already knew - that Richard Griffiths, Fiona Shaw and Harry Melling aren't on the cast list; that means the Dursleys have been stripped from GoF. Those are the "for sure" new cast members. Still no Ludo Bagman... And that worries me, even though he doesn't have a truly important part that couldn't be played by another cast member, it just worries me.

TJ Poll #1 - How old were you when you buy your first JW CD?
jamesie replied to John McClane's topic in General Discussion
I was 12 when I bought my first JW CD! It was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! Boo ya! My mom had Home Alone before that but I didn't know about it. HPSS shall hold a place in my heart and the memory part of my ears as my first JW thing! -
What is John's best 1990 through 2000 score?
jamesie replied to jamesie's topic in General Discussion
Many other kids my age, who are usually engaged in rotting their minds with their crap-rap banging into their ears, know their Christmas music. They know Home Alone on my burned CD's consisting of various songs when one comes up. On many field-trips, they'll say,"Jamesiepoo, whatcha listenin too???" I say, "Something you probably wouldn't like." Well they usually exclaim, "OOHHH that's from that Home Alone movie thing!!!" Then they hog my JW cd's for the rest of the trip and leave me musicless. But that's ok. Spreading the plague of perdy music to "Generation Crap-Rap Children". -

Sorry if I upset anyone by talking about a score that isn't included in this thread. I just wanted to comment on that. -
What is John's best 1990 through 2000 score?
jamesie replied to jamesie's topic in General Discussion
I think that if JW really wanted to, he could have made a huge suite out of the x-mas theme used in the first and second HP movies. It was probably more of a small, strung out motif sort of dealy than a fully-fledged theme but I think it could have been developed into something cool, but it was really happy and light, very Home Alone-esque. Then there was the song that the ghosts sung (possibly Winter's Spell) would be cool as an orchestra piece (without the voices; just a huge orchestra playing the song). -

I am... Fooweybunkered!!! I expected Hook to win by a lot... Maybe tie with SW and SL. Hook is my favorite. Idk, is Hook considered a great score by a lot of people besides me?? I KNOW it's only losing by one vote... But I think it's so amazing that... Well, I think it out-does most of the other ones up there by quite a bit... I am sure my ignorance of the other great scores up there is obvious, but uhmm... ya. -
Cauron/Gambon added spunk, swiftness, youthness, and cleverness to the man we know as Dumbledore. Wiseness seems just as present as ever... The robes are, yes, a travesty. The nails show age and, well, are pretty disgusting... The beard is more wire-like, showing age and stress, which might make one think that the performance this new face would give would be that of an old, weak man. But when Gambon speaks it makes me feel light and airy... All of his lines are like cotton candy: sweet and to the point: sweet. They are all just... Cool... The way he delivers them is weird, which is Dumbledore. That's what I wanted: a different sort of actor bringing out the quirkiness in a truly clever, quirky character. Now let's just see how many people reply and disagree with my post. I expect a good few.

I voted on my own poll for Hook... I don't know if thats legal or not... But yeah... There are many other qualified ones, certainly... I would like to see Jurassic Park, Hook, and Star Wars to score well. -
This has probably been done a million times but I'm just wondering... I have no clue what the top contenders of this list are/will be, but I am just curious because several of his best soundtracks have come from this time period, in my opinion. This is my first poll, so if I did something wrong or if you have suggestions please give them to me.

Yeah... I never once thought about that... Hehe... Ron is whining and Dumbledore isn't listening. Ha! Oh hear me chuckle! LOL

Gambon captured the sarcasm and quickness better than Richard Harris did... Harris was an old, spunky, grandpa figure that did an amazing job playing Dumbledore and captured the soft side of the headmaster better than Gambon perhaps. Gambon's "Did what? Good night!" was perfect. Very memorable and smart. His speech at the start of term was also memorable. "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times." (out candle) "If one only remembers, to turn on the light." (candle on). that was my MSN name for a long time after my first viewing of the movie. Then his tapping/hitting/lightly slapping Ron's leg was the goofiness without meaning to be part of his character... The eccentricities of Dumbledore came out in this movie in EXTREMELy subtle ways... There wasn't any of that in CoS. But one must remember that Harris wasn't well enough to give a shockingly good performance, even though he was very good (although he had so little screen time he had no real opportunity). In SS, Harris had his cool moments, more along the lines of what Gambon showed in PoA. There was the (what i considered funny) earwax joke, the painful death line, SILENCE, and the magical moment where he is expaining to Harry the reason for his scar. Gambon lit up every moment with an airiness, a carefree feeling that is needed for Dumbledore. Harris was great, don't get me wrong, but Gambon was smart acting, silly, serious, absent minded, and simply magical all at the same time. He's an eccentric wizard when one compares him to McGonagall (a witch), Snape, Flitwick, etc... I look back two or three years when the 1st movie came out: I thought that Dumbledore was perfect. Now I think the same about this one.

Just saying. Geez. I shall conceal myself in the Other Topics forum then.

The sixth book is for certain going to be called Harry Potter and the Half Blood prince... The Leaky Cauldron said it was on her site and that the Harry Potter and the Pillar of Starge titale is a fake... Just thought that I should throw that bit of info out into the open.

Should Williams end his collaboration with Spielberg?
jamesie replied to King Mark's topic in General Discussion
I think Spielberg has always brought out some of Williams' best work *key word some, not all*. Hook, in which I was like... 2 yrs old when it came out, is a movie I've grown up with, therefore, I liked and still love it.... In my opinion, John's best work was in that movie... Then there's ET, JAWS, Close Encounters... Those are amazing scores, and while John W. hasn't come out with any outstanding Spielberg scores within the last few years, they need to stick together for future collaborations that would result in some of great style of music Williams showed in earlier years. I have perfect confidence they will stick together for a loooong time to come. -
Uhm Uhm Uhm... What about the crappy X-mas song from Hp SS? Then there's Winter's Spell from PoA which no one knows if it's something new or a repeat of the song from the first album...

I personally CAN see her shooting fire and attacking Leprachauns. She's still perdy though.

I wanna say something about Morlock's "best adaptation". I agree with him strongly. Then many pounced on him, saying how much they left out and how much worse it is than the books. Well look at LotR. They left MANY large parts out of the movies... MANY MANY MANY! Many said how bad they were because of that but then turned around loved them. Well look at all of the awards and recognition the movies have gotten. PoA is every bit as good of an adaptation as LotR ever was. Pretty much. :? This is at the least a 4 star movie. An amazing adaptation, IMO.

Does anyone else hear A Winter's Spell being sung in the background when the trio is in Hogsmeade? It's definetely there. It almost sound like the terrible X-mas song that was in the first album's Christmas at Hogwarts track, but it sounds like it's much more jumpy. It sounded terribly intigueing and I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed it. *sigh* :?

Let's just say we didn't like John Williams *GASP!* Let's say we just saw the movie's end credits... Would we like the music? Yes, because we wouldn't have necessarily listened to the CD before. We would think, oh that's nice how he put all of the themes together. -

*Sigh* It will work with the movie. People will like it as end credits, even if SOME don't. -

Maybe it was from pre-recorded music. BUT it still is a nice recap of all of the scores from the movie. I have noticed that if there is really good music in the movie then they will stay for the end credits, just to hear it inn all of its glory. I think of it from that point of view.
