Hey... I'm holding judgement... They might be really fun, catchy songs. But they'll probably have stupid lyrics... to go with the magic Harry Potter stuff. Who knows.

-
US Amazon is now using that stupid cover image... so maybe it's real... and they have this to say about the soundtrack...
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film (and soundtrack album) in the massively successful Harry Potter franchise-nearly $1 billion in U.S. box office alone-features a score by Academy Award-nominated composer Patrick Doyle and three songs written by modern rocker Jarvis Cocker, and performed by Cocker, Jonny Greenwood, Phil Selway, Steve Claydon and Jason Buckle-with all these musicians also appearing in the movie.

Prolouge from Hook has some nice string work, I believe.
-
However, a lot of these track titles have the possibility to have very thematic music attached to them... Or perhaps concert pieces.
-
Oh, and, Leaky Cauldron now has an entirely new GoF t.v. spot with, ahem, a wonderful little clip of a ferret. And lots of previous Harry Potter music. (mainly Numbus 2000 and a big Hedwig's Theme at the end)

I chuckle at HPFAN's picture of a presumably naked Mr. Radcliffe (even though I am sure he has some form of loin cloth on under the water) because I do not know many people who wear glasses while bathing. Perhaps this is when Myrtle pops up out of the water and flashes Harry, and he had to put glasses on to see those transparent Bosoms of Abraham a little better.

Leaky Cauldron says the soundtrack is going to be released the 15th of November instead of the 8th.

Hook!

Yes, but IMO, a simple themed score like (all) Lord of the Rings makes for a dour listening experience. Very boring. I am sure in many cases, this is not true. But with LotR, I can't sit through the CD. And by simple, I mean subtle.
-
Will there be one?
-
Leaky Cauldron has a link to another new t.v. spot. I don't think the music is Doyle.
-
Oh and by the way, I figured out that Professor Flitwick is the one conducting the orchestra in the trailer. Anywho...
-
And then Hook... And Home Alone... And Jurassic Park... All thematically driven scores. After that, until Harry Potter, he did change his style... mainly because the movies were a different style than his earlier works... But when Harry Potter came around, the themes popped up again. So I don't know if his style has changed as much as the movies that he has had to work with.

Film music is many times, more thematically-based than other genres. Whistleability. That's why many enjoy it.

I can't type anything in the chat room... No area to type. Prolly because I have a Mac.
And no, I will never lower myself to a PC!!!!!!!!!!!....!!!!!............................!

I was 14 when I joined... Am 15 now...
PSSSSTTT: Yesterday, I made a good friend of mine watch Hook... She loved PotC music and now she wants the Hook score... anyway.... psssst... ..... .......... . . ......... .. .. . . .

Leaky Cauldron has some magazine scans of GoF... In one of the collages, it shows an orchestra at the Yule Ball... I wonder if Doyle will be conducting it.
-
Leaky Cauldron has a DIFFERENT new trailer... Kinda low res and shorter. But more new stuff. Really cool.
-
Possible spoiler...
I think that's cool that they kept Voldie looking very similar to what he looked like in the first one. It looks really artful, and possible more imaginative than the previous films. Mad-eye Moody still looks too weird. That eye looks overly-fake. But it all looks great.
-
Wow. I hope that second piece of music is Doyle. Great trailer.
-
My respect for Danny Elfman just keeps growing. Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and now Corpse Bride... So COOL! I don't know hardly any scores by him... But the ones I do know are great.
-
I do enjoy the score because it IS fun. But I hate how so many kids my age put it in a pedestal. REALLY annoying. And they never see the light when i feebly attempt to tell them that there are much much better scores out there.
-
Yeah... the GOOD Lemony Snicket music... The stuff I liked.
